I like fish more than chicken if we're eating it raw. I like chicken more than fish if we're talking fried. Both go pretty well with the right red wine. Macs befuddle me, but that's because I was raised PC. PC also got more games along the way, so I consider that a major benefit over Apple's offering. But I can't envy the streamlined elegance of a good mac. Ps3 can play blurays. Since I collect blurays, that's the end of the argument right there for me. Also, I had a very bad experience with an early Xbox controller, which felt like a pregnant fish. But I really enjoyed Kingdom Under Fire (I think it was), Skyrim did seem better on Xbox and Xboxlive is a much more successful online community than that of the Ps3's, I think. ...See? These could all lead to discussion, shared knowledge, maybe even modified opinions and attitudes. Most of the time when I see someone being less than amenable and all sorts of belligerent and forthright and opinionated, I figure it's because they actually WANT a fight. ...Isn't that trolling? Theres not really a difefrence between these two games. As much as they have been praised for God knows how long, theres a slight problem to both of them. THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE!

Yeah, well, to keep things grounded and not TOO lofty, I ain't buyin' D3 and tried to talk some old D1 friends out of it as well. :)
I think it's perfectly possible (if not absolutely necessary) to compartmentalise; there is room for belief and personal judgment right beside objective criticism and observations. All things in their time and place. I really hate it when people waste forum space fighting. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Not everyone can craft a readable, honest post as you can though CharanJaydemyr. While comparisons 'should' open doors to to discussion, shared knowledge etc, they rarely do and instead result in trolling, flaming, bashing and very hateful/offtopic comments.
