Speak with your wallet

Speak with your wallet sounds nice and all.
Except Monday there will be a new pair of wings out and by 4 pm your local time most of the "boycott ggg" crowd will have one. Because nobody will know you caved in again for a handful of pixels. But at least you look cool now, right? |

" Whats the point of any cosmetics if your fun of the game being sealed behind what you dont wanna do, and you slowly realising you tend to play less and less due to demotivating bad decisions devs stand and even adding more of non fun gates. So you log in, see what you need to do for whot you like to do, feel your not goin thru all this boring already and highly repetitive stuff, then log out without even playing + getting really bad taste about this thing what calls itsef A GAME in paper, but in real its not a game anymore, its failing its entertaining purpose. So why worry anymore. Got decisions, will get consequences. |

I'm currently done with purchasing supporter packs. I haven't been happy with the state/direction POE has been heading in.
The last few leagues going back to Betrayal and even Delve, I feel like the game is becoming to convoluted and cluttered. I like having a lot to do in a game, but I feel like it's a mess atm. There's way to much shit to manage. I still like POE to a point and will continue to play, but casually. I'm done spending every chance of free time I have to play POE. I've recently decided to dust off my copy of D2 and started playing single player. It's been a nice change of pace from the cluster f!@k currently taking place in POE. Just took a little while to get used to the change in graphics. To me D2 will always be the game that I go back to, despite how old it is. It's the game for me that sets the standard of all arpg's. Currently POE feels like a joke to play. I was watching some gfl clips earlier and saw a clip of a player with what seemed like 100+ HH buffs covering up the entire screen, steam rolling his way through the map. I've seen shit like that often watching streams. It just seems fake af. Because of shit like that in POE it's made me think of simpler times back in D2 when you could actually see the screen and feel connected to the environment around you. I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say, just ranting. I just feel like I've been waiting for a game to resemble D2 but in modern gfx and for awhile I thought that might be POE. Definitely wasn't D3. In my opinion D3 was a disgrace to the franchise. Hopefully D4 will be that game if and when it gets released. I'm not advocating for everyone to stop supporting POE. If you like the game and direction it's going then by all means get your wallet out. Last edited by Optix_#3288 on May 4, 2019, 1:41:41 PM

I can’t decide which supporter pack to get. Is the sunspire hideout decent?
Thanks for all the fish!

I feel very similarly about D2, but I have played that to death. It really has nothing more to offer me without the use of cheats to increase HR drop rates, because that's the primary gate to anything I haven't seen/played with (like weird builds centered around Delirium, lol). These days I fall back to Grim Dawn when I want a more natural, "pure" ARPG experience. It really feels like the grown up modern version of D2 to me.
Tired of trolls? Ignore them.

" Then I am special too ;) I love the trading system even if it's slow. Because trade manipulation is waaay more less with this system than an automated system. (Actually if you have some brains you would know that usually the first 10 deals on poe.trade is the "price fixer" ones which you can completely ignore to get an instant sale) Last edited by Stacey_GGG#0000 on May 6, 2019, 12:53:52 AM

GGG likely made a tidy pile from the PS4 version recently, seeing as how so many people are unfortunately willing to splurge on MTX and DlC for games they've only just downloaded and not yet played.
The thing is, the other half of players are more cautious, and won't spend a dime until they're convinced that they won't regret that investment. It really doesn't matter how the MTX is marketed, how good it is, or how vital it is: if I'm not even confident I'll even be playing in a month's time how can I confidently buy MTX? Unless there are some drastic changes and improvements that situation just isn't going to change. Can you rely on the half who already bought MTX to keep buying MTX? Well, no. Not if they're already regretting the money spent, not if they already quit the game. All the "low hanging fruit" MTX buying players have already spent as much as they're ever likely to spend, and the state of the game has shrunk that down considerably. Sure, a trickle of money will come in from new players here and there, but this golden goose will have stopped laying eggs, and GGG only have themselves to blame. Remember, this comes after the game was delayed 3 times, so they already managed to sour the PS4 community's opinion and paint a bad impression before release; this just cements things further. Of course, PS4 players "voting with their wallet" means that version is likely to be de-prioritized or even abandoned: GGG are strapped for developers and can't waste time working on underperforming platforms. If the game dies, the game dies. So be it. But GGG need to take this lesson and do something with it. If they continue down this path, they will inevitably find themselves in a similar position on PC, and without a second IP as a backup in case of disaster GGG are very vulnerable to anything resembling a mass-exodus or boycott of the game or it's MTX. But how tight would that noose have to be before Chris realises how serious the players are and stops being so unreasonably stubborn? It won't be long before we find out, if the escalating situation gets much wors |
