The shitshow of poe.trade & co and ppl not responding late in the league

GGG has a much better trade system in their console versions, but GGG has always used the old and tired "we don't want trading to be too easy" bullshit.

That same line makes console trading pretty awful too. Seriously, you don't know how much you'll miss a proper search feature until it's gone... though I'll give that maps aren't exactly a thing you need proper search tools for.

The OP's problem exists on console too. You don't have to PM sellers, but they still have to manually respond to your offers. Trouble is, most of the time there's no buyout price, or the seller rejects you with no explanation given, or the seller is AFK for days at a time. Buying is just as much of a pain, and it's because of other people rather than the trade system in general.

That said, having sellers auto-accept any offers at or above buyout price would massively weed out price fixers, trolls and time wasters.

So this happens every time i have to throw the elder blob around in low level maps or clear the atlas for challenges:
i can not buy that damn map without SPAMMING the entire poe.trade website.
3 weeks ago some dude put thicket up for 1 alch, what was then kind of worth it for him to respond to. now he doesnt even bother inviting for a trade for anything below 5c.
okay, might aswell just go up in price and hope people get their asses up.
i literally just messaged 20 guys, probably 10 of them the same guy with multiple listings for 2 chaos each t5 map.
i did not get a single response, but my wrist hurts.
so i either overpay heavily to get the elderblob around, which then isnt profitable anymore with it sometimes disappearing now, or it involves literally minutes of spamming.
is there a website or a tool i am missing that works better?
if not:
plz change this. if someone doesnt respond to a trademessage, take that item of the market and blur it out so ppl see they have to relist if they want to...

ps: this will also lessen the occurance of ppl messaging sellers for an item, but then ignoring invites for the trade, as they wont have to spam 30 guys anymore to get a chance of someone responding.

dont buy maps 1 at a time, buy in bulk. want 1 map for a daily, buy 5. nobody gives a shit about 2 chisel trades but ill sure portal out for 10. Whole trade in poe is designed around bulk trading.

also dont use poetrade for map trading and such, use the off. poe site for that, there u you can select all the maps you want at once, then look for one guy who sells them all and send him your request. works like a charm and you dont have to whisper 20 people.

The topic of trade is really an old one for poe, so I don't have anything to add about that.

But here is a tip that works for me most of the time: do a live search for the map that you need. People that just put them up for sale normally will be willing to sell immediately.

late in the league

Six weeks out of thirteen is not "late."

Day 1 is also not late. People are awful and it's why trading needs to be fixed.
Everybody uses the currency side of poe.trade to buy maps right?
I just spam the heck out of sellers when I wanna buy something. It's not a nice thing to do but it works in most cases. Well sometimes they tell you to go to a toolshed and die alone but usually they just sell the stuff without a word.

Don't you have a specialist map trading tool/site you folks on PC use to swap maps? There was one a few months back when I played on PC - so why would you use poe.trade over that?

If I need to buy a map it's to spread elder influence and I want the map now. I'm not sure what maps I'll need in the future so it's hard to predict to do the trade.

poe.trade isn't bad though, it rarely takes me more than three whispers. I did have more trouble when I used the item side but once I started using the currency side of the site it became much easier as you can see how many maps people have and also you can see the maps that are priced to be bulk sales and not individual sales. The bulked maps clutter the item side and look like they are priced individually over there. I don't buy too many maps these days, I'm sustaining now.
