The shitshow of poe.trade & co and ppl not responding late in the league
So this happens every time i have to throw the elder blob around in low level maps or clear the atlas for challenges:
i can not buy that damn map without SPAMMING the entire poe.trade website. 3 weeks ago some dude put thicket up for 1 alch, what was then kind of worth it for him to respond to. now he doesnt even bother inviting for a trade for anything below 5c. okay, might aswell just go up in price and hope people get their asses up. i literally just messaged 20 guys, probably 10 of them the same guy with multiple listings for 2 chaos each t5 map. i did not get a single response, but my wrist hurts. so i either overpay heavily to get the elderblob around, which then isnt profitable anymore with it sometimes disappearing now, or it involves literally minutes of spamming. is there a website or a tool i am missing that works better? if not: plz change this. if someone doesnt respond to a trademessage, take that item of the market and blur it out so ppl see they have to relist if they want to... ps: this will also lessen the occurance of ppl messaging sellers for an item, but then ignoring invites for the trade, as they wont have to spam 30 guys anymore to get a chance of someone responding. when seller not responding to whisper it's not his fault.
I'm one of the map sellers i will give you some example i sell map tier 11 for 3 chisels for a couple of hours and no one wants to buy my map and then i try to reduce the price to 2 chisels that when shit happened because of i got whisper from 50 people at the same time and everybody is like i want this map and i want that map as well and i also want 2 of that map and i want the quality one bla bla bla bla and yes i can't reply to most of them i can only sell my map to 3 players out of 50 whisper and then i change maps price to 3 chisels again then no one want to buy my map again. it's not like i don't want to sell my map to you but i actually can't sell my map to you and why the fuck you guys just don't pay 1 more chisel instead of complaining about get ignore from sellers. and another problem is i got stuck in maps very often because this game design is against trading like zana map, memory, inclusion, lab, abyss, and buyer like you just can't want for couple minutes or even 20 second Last edited by Ozxell#4971 on Apr 20, 2019, 10:00:42 PM

" It depends on the league. Delve stuck around for a long time because it was a good league. This........not so much. I think the great dip happened after the first week, after the second one the crickets started playing. Last edited by Johny_Snow#4778 on Apr 20, 2019, 9:36:24 PM

Buy 100 maps at a time... not 1 by 1.

Trade in this game is probably one of the worst mechanics in any game I've ever played. And Ive been a gamer since before Diablo I or Everquest.
It plays off how annoying the endgame map mechanic is, because progress requires trade unless you play 12 hours a day, and trade is horrible. I've never played a game with so much potential ruined by such an intentional choice as to choose to make trade unpleasant, frustrating and game breaking. It puts one in an odd position of enjoying parts of PoE (why else play or post) but also hoping that the hubris of the designers hastens its demise. |

Ha, for South Park fans, you know what trade in this game is?
Its the device Mr Handy made that allowed you to skip flying, but it required you to control it by inserting the controls in your mouth and anus. People used it because it was better than the airlines. After using it for a while people realized that the anal insertion was totally unnecessary and didn't help the device at all. Thats what Chris' trade mechanic is to this game. Its still kinda worth playing, but the downsides are so unnecessary its unbelievable. |

"not his fault"
incorrect if you're WILLING to sell you will stop what you're doing for 20 seconds answer back the pm and keep doing what you're doing. just because you're greedy isnt an excuse for people wanting to buy things to be ignored because you're too greedy to take 1 alch for a map.. tl;dr: if you want to sell something you will make sure the buyer knows that you will sell it. "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."
Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. |

Definitely not the OP's fault. Clearly it's GGG's fault for never making improvements to trading. GGG has a much better trade system in their console versions, but GGG has always used the old and tired "we don't want trading to be too easy" bullshit. So instead of making trading work GGG would rather keep it as crude and non-functional as possible.
Bracing myself for the "trade is fine the way it is" trolls. Trade chat has never been good for buying low value items as it's so archaic that players don't want to take any time to respond to a WTB as GGG has made the grind so high for xp that unless you race maps in < a few minutes you won't get into the 90s fast enough. RNGesus knows that the coding of PoE for the speed racer crowd means they won't stop for any 1 or 2 chaos penny ante map trading. So GGG is double guilty of not coding a usable trade function in PC PoE and then morphing PoE into a racer/shooter such that the majority of the player base is too busy racing maps (gotta feed that addiction) to want to pause to sell maps. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |
