Yup, even on its lowest settings the game runs like crap with the 1060.

The game runs better on console than the PC version when it comes to performance. I just did some testing on my own PS4 Pro feels so much smoother. It’s a waste of money getting a PC with a 1060gtx or lower unless you need it for school.

Hopefully I helped a few of you in deciding whether or not to purchase a console... I don’t have an Xbox so I can’t comment on their version. Questions comments concerns feel free to ask.

A 1060 blows the PS4 out of the park. Might want to fix your jank PC.
Yeah, everything maxed with my 1060 i do not have 144fps (needed for 144hz monitors). It's a shame. I have an excuse to upgrade at least ;)

I don't have everything all the way maxed but it still looks about the same with what I don't have maxed and I'm around 90~100 fps in the highest load skill spam events (except intervention syndicate) on a 1050 ti. I have around 144 fps normally. The biggest tricks are to run a dedicated card on a monitor with the game fullscreen by itself and run everything else off another gpu and monitor. Still figuring out how to tab more gracefully, apparently nobody in the history of ever has figured this out yet so I'm trying to contact Microsoft to help me...very long shot.

Surely that's part of being a real gamer as opposed to someone who just wants things to 'look good'.

I think it's more a "age-thing", I'm afraid. People that grew up with games from the eighties and nineties, hell - even the seventies, have a tendency to value "feel" over "looks" or gameplay over graphics if you'd like. But you calling it "real gamer", warms my heart.

"I'm not saying you old, but you old!"

(PS: I really do not know if you're old enough to experience gaming in either the nineties, eighties nor seventies. But I suspect you are, at least the eighties.)

Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Truth to be told PoE is neither CPU or GPU bound but rather SSD and connection bound. So long as you got a SSD, preferable a NVMe, and a stable connection(good luck on this one), you should be fine with even a 5 year old machine.
Ok
Don't believe the Hype!
