Patch fix: Betrayal content has been removed from the game.

Only thing I disliked about betryal goimg core is that sulphite scarabs arent as good as they were during the league.

Betrayal has killed almost all of my interest in this league. I was planning on pushing to 100, but I'm up to 7 lag deaths to Betrayal now. Having my screen freeze during what is already the most rippy part of maps is getting really annoying.

GGG said in the recent dev-manifesto that they are looking to fix the lag-spikes when Interventions spawn.

If you are still being one-shot by Syndicate members after that, improve your build. Add life, add chaos res, add more defensive layers, grab some flasks that can help with defense rather then damage flasks. Add a defensive aura or vaal skil (vaal grace is a good all-around option).

Though the biggest advice is this: Unless you are built around face-tanking (Nebuloch Jugg for instance) don't face tank. Move around, dodge attacks, keep your fortify active. Stay at range a bit if your build allows it.

I may come back to the game after betrayal mechanics are removed from the game or when the death penalty is taken away. No way should both mechanics be active in the game.

The point is you don't get oneshot by anything except this sloppy garbage. Yeah yeah, your voiceovers and little minigame are cute but Betrayal is a mess and needs retuning in just about every area, from mob balance to pacing to general bugfixes.

Can I "git gud" and survive intervention by completely adjusting my build for that one specific random encounter? Sure, you can.

Is that reasonable? Not really.

I'm not against challenging fights but the "fun" of that encounter doesn't outweigh the challenge. Ultimately I'm playing a game to have a healthy balance of fun and challenge and a lot of people agree that syndicate atm is killing fun and making them not want to play with an overtuned challenge.

The reason nothing else one shots you is because no other mob in the game (except Incursion mobs and the Chaos-Spitters in the Apex of Sacrifice/Alluring Abyss, as well as Shakari, and of course chayula) deal chaos damage.

Chaos res is becoming more and more important as time goes on. To the point where it's now effectively a requirement to hit at minimum -30% chaos res.

(Even though I've been running around with -60% chaos res, 3.8k life, and 70% elemental res and have not been one shot yet. Hmmmmmmm).
As someone stated, it's not the difficulty, it's the disparity in difficulty. The game's damage is too "spikey", your damage also scales way too fast in comparison to your damage taken. This means your content is often bottlenecked by which content will 1 shot you. You can "get gud" all you want but you can't be lucky forever. Also, most people's definition of "get gud" in this game revolves around using cheesy builds or things like logout macros.

-I just wish the content wasn't based around facerolling mobs at the speed of light and if you try to do anything more difficult, you're severely limited because you can't find any more survivability.
