Rest in peace my beautiful Arc Trap

The chain length is the real nerf, not the damage.
It's designed so Arc Trap can no longer screen-clear, while self cast Arc still potentially can.
It's a clever kind of nerf to fit the new self cast philosophy.

To be fair I knew a nerf was coming, but I thought they will just murder the Trap support.
This is surprisingly clever.

Think about it.

The initial cast has no new chain limit, so lets assume a screen with 2 packs on it.

1) run between them and bundle them together + trap them all.

2) throw trap in between them and use sabo trigger to proq all.

In situation 2 the traps can still use their initial cast to reach both packs, arguably it will sometimes faill and become less efficient.

And yes clearing up to 3 screens will no longer be possible.(i played it, it was stupendous and hilarious at the same time when comparing it with other skills :p)

Personally i would use strategy 1 with sabo since you have blind aura and the play-style allows for it.(if your ehp is covered and you can do it)
Early on with low gear it will mean throwing a bit more traps though.

Bassicaly what i see is more strategical placement of traps and the inability to clear multiple screens at once, though a full screen still seems entirely plausible to me if played accurately.

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
I've been earnestly bored playing them after 3 leagues....

However the only reason I even made the first one was the league mechanic of the time (incursion) necessitated fast wave clear from a skill that wasn't so easily defeated by terrain (like walls).

I mean, cluster took a hit, then shimmeron, and now distance.

It wasn't so much that arc was too good, it was just that way too many of the alternatives had no appeal.
Yep, totally over league play.

Both strategies work for other kinds of traps too, and thus remove the superiority Arc Trap had.
The nerf did what it was supposed to do... but I'm not giving up on Trappers just yet. Even cool down based traps seem a viable option.
