Who else won't even be TRYING d3
This isn't 2000 anymore, when you (if you're a non noob/old school gamer) expected blizzard to make top end multiplayer games.
With their celebrity endorsed zombify yourself and grind for gear to be good, or spend real life money (you're buying off of blizzard employees btw), I knew before the hype and announcement of d3's no pvp on release (lol, wow) (you bet i already knew there would be no open world pvp.. duh) that d3 would imo not even be worth trying. The reason I'm bothering to write this (which should be obvious if you aren't a zombified retard already) is that ever since WOW, the fucking game market has turned out nothing but dumbed down shit. Like seriously, I know anime nerds and noobs that couldn't handle counterstrike/unreal make up a large amount of consumers. You have to go back to like 1999 to find games worth playing. At least for multiplayer. |

I haven't tried Diablo 3 Beta, but I did pre-purchase the regular digital version. Just to have some nostalgic moments.
Whether it will retain my interest or not remains to be seen. The last Blizzard game I played was Diablo 2, so I have not had my judgement clouded by World of Warcraft. I understand that many gaming studios are trying to cater to the larger audience, casual gamers. That's fine by me as I would now consider myself a casual gamer due to other, more important interests in my life. If you're hell bent on hardcore games that harken back to 1999, do yourself a favour and create, produce and publish the game yourself. I'll be sure to try it. |

I have to agree with you Batista, Blizzard has been a bit of a disappointment lately. Realistically, as soon as I get a beta pass for PoE, there won't be any need to shell out $30 to $60 on Diablo, no matter how much I love my Diablo past.
However, a lot of the gaming market isn't about making the best games. It's responding to what people buy to make money, with goals of pleasing a management focused on purchases and profit. It's hard for great, hardcore games to thrive in that way, especially with the number of people playing casual games now. |

I'd like to give Diablo 3 a try, but like with Episode 3, it took too long to be released, so I stopped caring.
Path of Exile is scratching that "Diablo itch" just fine. Feel free to add me on Steam

Played D1 and D2. Feverishly waited for news on D3 for years. Now that I've watched (not played) the slow degeneration of what was, at first blush, a promising game, I can say that I will not be playing D3. Too many changes, some of them simply inexplicable, have turned D3 into a rush-to-market mess.
PoE has provided me with an alternative, for which I ma grateful. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

While I do agree that the direction of Diablo 3 in the beta and from what I can tell of the upcoming release isn't what I would want it to be, I can't really call it 'crappy' as so many have.
I kind of relate the situation to music. I really don't care for 'popular' music. I would call it bad, and poorly made. BUT, a huge amount of people seem to love it. If I'm in the minority, who am I to judge the quality? Same seems to be true for the recent direction Blizzard has taken with their titles. I don't like it. A lot of people seem to love it. So who am I to judge? I'm just glad there is an alternative for me available... "I would have listened... I would have understood!" - Scion
Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet? |

You have a point about the minority thing.
The only thing D3 has to compete with is nostalgia. The fact aside that D1 and D2 were awesome games, I'm sure a lot of us played them growing up, so we hold them up high for that reason. I know there are many other factors to forging one's opinion, but what it comes down to it... nostalgia. I think I will not play D3, I will just stay here at PoE.
An immense river of oblivion is sweeping us away into a nameless abyss.

Well, i will not be buying d3, but only because I will never ever support any game, no matter how good it is, that is a single player game with online only DRM.
