Melee Weapon Range - need explanation

2 range is pretty tiny. Conc. effect cleave would be 14 and it is barely distinguishable from normal melee range with a 1H.

Keep in mind with cyclone that you would get +2 all around you, so sort of like +4 total.

This is how I think range works now, but I could be totally wrong:

The space your own character takes up, like what you would bump into is range 1-4.

1-handers can have a (max) range of 4-6. I have no clue which is which, but will maybe do some testing. stuff like claws is probably 4 and rapiers 6.

2-handers have max ranges of 6-8. Again, I think this depends on item type, but not sure.

I swear I saw something from a GGG employee recently or in the past about 4-6 for 1 handed, 6-8 for 2 handed.

Read my post just behind marks (last on the forst page of this topic) ;) he said that one handers get increeased from 4 to 6 and two handers from 5 to 7 (with the passive, not that the basic range varies)

Maybe I misunderstood whatever that was though or have a bad memory, whatever I don't care.
Chypre, I thought the same when I read Mark's post in the other thread - that there was a varying range within 1h and 2h weapons - but on a second reading it seems clear he was stating the addition from the new passive. :)
