Trading System?
|
3rd party app to trade ( that veteran player know about ) or pay to trade by buying tab.
Trading system supposed to be simple and convenient. The wait time is unbearable and on top of it's outdated for new player to endure. Why is everything outside of game not in-game? Last bumped on May 3, 2019, 9:38:19 AM

Because the existing system is considered the lesser of two evils.
Conceptually, you're not supposed to be trading constantly. You're supposed to trade for a handful of key items that will make or break your chosen build. It's all explained in considerable detail in the Trade Manifesto. Which is what Shagsbeard linked (above). 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Here we go again...

" It's supposed to be the exact opposite in this game. Deal with it. |

Just use aqcuisition/procurement or whatever is used these days or grab a prem tab while on sale = 3euros. Ez.

" A trading system is supposed to be a supplement to the game, making THE GAME better. It's hard to make a trading system a supplement in a loot based game, without totally removing the "loot" element, making the trading system the center of everything. And in before the "it already is"-squad comes dancing: No, no it's not. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Yes but Chris and company will not give us in-game fishing so we must do our trolling here. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

" Never (the hell with that). That's like saying "it hurts when I bend over" and the doctor's response is "then don't do that". Ok, So trading sucks to the max so I don't do it (only rarely at most). That's not acceptable. GGG doesn't have any way to track how many players have gotten frustrated and quit over the years from bad trade function but it has to be millions by now. Why does GGG deliberately ignore this problem? Trading shouldn't be this much of an ordeal. Why should we have to be in-game to get notified that someone is wanting to buy an item. Trade whispers should have been done as an instant messaging system on smart phones from the get-go. GGG should be flogged for not having a 21st century way for players to communicate our WTB/WTS. GGG, just get with the times and code us an instant messaging trade app already. Why be so failing with 3rd party search with manual copy/page to whisper a WTB? It makes no sense to cripple trading when you (GGG) are always pushing us toward trading with 99.999% trash drops and tout trading as a key feature of PoE. If trading is that important then make it usable! This is the other side of the galaxy from being "we don't want trading to be too easy" as you can get. There has to be a better (middle) solution (I will always push for the smart phone trade app) than a full auction house that neither GGG and many players (myself included) want. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. They "deliberately ignore" this because the solutions make the problem worse. Easy trade would ruin the game. No trade would ruin the game. Hence, they compromise on "difficult trade". Read the damn manifesto.
