"PoE Trade" NEVER ANSWER .....

sometimes i get whispers 10 minutes after i already sold my item and i usually say "sold" but after saying it 10 times it gets old,so this could be another reason why people dont answer, the item is sold and they cant be bothered to keep saying sold over and over

Most of the people who argue for an AH are those who never played EverQuest, or D3 before the RMAH was removed. Those two games as a minimum eloquently show why an AH is a bad idea. It would kill PoE, and I think GGG know that.

I wouldn't mind an offline trading ability for maps, but I'm not even sure that is a good idea. What I *would* like is for trading bots to be nuked and excluded. It's past time for GGG to get super aggressive on that front.

In fact, Chris Wilson did indeed play D3 when it had an AH and that experience featured quite prominently in his decision not to include one in PoE. He talks about that in the Trade Manifesto.

I've played D3, and i'm still advocating for AH.
Sure, RMAH is another thing, and i'm all hands against it too. RMAH is bad, but AH with in-game currency is good.
D3 economy failed not due to AH, but because it had RMAH and no currency sinks.

A lot of problems could already be solved if you didn't have to return to your HO for trading.

Hello,

It becomes "annoying" to NEVER get an answer when you want to buy (on the official website) an item that is not worth 200 EXALTS. There, there is an answer in the second half name of Zeus. And I am polite.

It's time to do something not ??????
These players are marked "ONLINE" brothel. If they do not want to answer for an object that is only worth a chisel when they do not sell it.

It's not complicated ......

THANK YOU.
GOODBYE.

Pro Tip: Sort your item search by date listed. Under the price you will see the player's name and the text "listed 'X time' ago" - click on this and the search results will sort by the most recent listings. These are the players most likely to sell their items as they've listed the item very recently. They might not be the cheapest price but as long as it's reasonable it's worth saving yourself the hassle

It is kind of annoying when people don't even acknowledge you. A simple "I'm currently busy and will get back with you when I can" would suffice. I don't believe anyone is expecting people to immediately drop what they are doing and rush off to trade with you on a moment's notice.

This being said - it's still infinitely better than the alternative which is to trade through chat channels "shudder".

My issue is that /afk autoresponse messages don't persist through zones.

I can either use /dnd autoresponse which completely kills all chat functionality, or I can ignore most whispers when I am engaged with something intensive. (Delve, Speedrunning lab, Shaper, Uber Atziri etc etc)

The vast majority of my enjoyment in this game is interaction with my guildmates; even if I don't immediately respond to them in chat I still want to be able to read whats going on.

So, there are three solutions to this problem as I see it.

1) AFK Persists through zones.
2) DND Only blocks whispers.
3) GGG Makes an autoresponse feature seperate from these two that persists through zones.

Sorry to be the generic arsehole, but as it stands if you want to buy a single map from me for 1 chaos while I am killing shaper then you won't get a response.

during busy hours , if i stopped to do this id be doing 1 map an hour.

i will only respond like this if they say they will wait a few minutes and maybe pay more if it is a cheap item in std.

Chalk me up as another asshole. And agreed: if autoresponses were to be persistent, it would alleviate a LOT of the non-communication woes.

Blizzard could easily have left the game-gold AH in. They didn't. They took out both AHs.

They've clearly stated that they felt that any AH undermined core gameplay.

(Blizzard's official statement on the AH (as I've linked before): https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/9972208129 )
