People are a) busy or b) don't want to do the trade for whatever reason. They are not obligated to answer you/do the trade. No answer -> proceed to message another seller. |

For cheap items the only approach to keep your sanity is mass whispering one after the other until you get a response. Apologies if you're that guy who gets a wtb whisper and leaves their map before getting an invite but does anyone actually still do that?

There's no cheap item you *have to* buy, and when you try to buy expensive items you'll get an answer.
So where is the problem. |

I try to unless I'm knee deep in a mob or somewhere in a delve.
I really need to learn to stop responding when I'm in a zana map with one portal. I've blown a bunch of those maps now, the simple fact it's a blue portal should tell me not to go to my hideout... sometimes there's more than one try though.. the game is constantly adding new ways to make us online but unavailable to trade.
you are left with a few choices. Start by friending them, then you can get more information. you can message them again in a minute if they are busy or afk in hideout. you can offer more for the item if they can trade you after their current map/delve etc - though i only do this for build enablers or if i am playing standard and they are in the league. you can ask them if they will be free in a few minutes - this gives more of an impression that you aren't spamming 30 ppl for similar items. you can send a party invite if they are not mapping. |

Let's flip this neverending trade whinge on it's head, shall we? Y'all wanna know what the REALLY unbearable trade interaction is? It's NOT when someone fails to answer your request for a trade. (they owe you nothing. YOU are the one seeking a trade, if they are too busy to answer then stop whining and seek it elsewhere) No. No. The truly egregious shit is when I drop everything for a trade request, instantly portal back to my hideout so I can make the trade, just to have the shithead on the other end tell me they no longer want the item. And that's if I'm lucky. Often as not, the feckwit on the other end doesn't even SAY A GODDAMNED THING. They just decline the invite and don't have the basic human decency to say "oh, sorry, I bought it from someone else" GRrrrrr!!!! What, you couldn't wait zero-point-four seconds for me to invite you before spamming your request to a dozen other poor bastards? And you can't even make the effort to let me know? ARRggggg! MAKES ME MAADDDDD! Hillock smash!!- levels of rage at that fuckwittery right here, I'll have you know.

I've become smart enough to wait until they join to warp back, but then some folks get all impatient and leave while you're grabbing the item in your box. Doubly mad if you leave a one instance zana map because they are buying something that's more than a few C and they bail. It takes a moment to portal back.
