max resistances bugged?

why does the purity of ice gem that adds max resistance not indicate it on the player character sheet? I use the armor lorweave and that indicates 80 max resistances, but when I activate my purity of ice gem it remains at 80% instead of raising to 83, 84 , or 85..... whats going on?

Loreweave overwrites any other +max res you have period.

@corrison how does a jugg achieve 90 cold res then? I see that there are achievements for 90 res... wondering how to get high resistances if loreweave base isn't an armor that can be used? thanks for the info in advance

Resistance shrine adds +10 max res.
You use to be able to use specific potions, but that has been changed. To get it currently I would go for fire res over 90 since it's easier (and you only need 1 over 90). Get the +1 from skill tree, grab a phoenix or saffell shield for +4 or +5. Then just get lucky and find that shrine, it's more common than you think. You can't have it with Loreweave since lore weave forces your resistence cap to be 80 (or 76-80).

@corrison what builds are used to get super high res builds? like 85 to 90 res without having to use shrines or potions to rely on getting that res? or does that not exist?
