POE skin prices... too high?

I like that feeling when I go to other game, look at prices in cash shop and Im like "damn they are so cheap!"

Farmbots and tradebots dont need any skins! ;) Thats why the league retention is so high. Guess how % now from all chars logged are botnets? I dunno, but some rumors saying its more than 50% already..

Why would they ever lower prices? They've got 5+ years of evidence that thousands of people will pay their exorbitant prices. Get used to it, it's never going to change.

But has he gone to any other companies web site that he used before and said to them, "Hey I used to make 3k a month and use your services all the time, now I only make 1k a month and your prices are too high"

You are the consumer. You get to decide on how you would like to spend your money. If something is priced to high wait for a sale.

Sure there are other games out there that might offer better MTX for the money you spend on it.
And there are other games out there that are far worse.

There are game companies that sold their game at full price, then a week later it was on sale 20$ cheaper, then a month later it was 50% off.

There are companies that sell you a full outfit at a discount price when if fact it was never released before. (how can it be a discount if it has not been for sale before)

Honestly, yes, from 60$ onwards is absurd in my opinion. It amazes me that people are actually willing to spend this amount for appearance(each to their own and i don't judge anyone, but it stil amazes me)

Having said that, the game deserves people spending their cash on it, but i firmly believe that it would actually be a financial gain for GGG if those packs were halved in price, as probably far more people(students, younger gamers with skeptical parents) would be willing to invest into the game, 60$ + most likely alienates tons of potential customers and targets certain adult gamers.

I never realized there are so many rich people until I've played PoE. Almost everyone in town has MTX and I'm not talking about 1 pixel pet or skull from Steam. Considering that a AAA game is for 30-60$, same amount for just set of armour skins is ridiculous, but it has always been GGG's problem. They don't have regional pricing and their target is only the first world country player.

Even RTMers want just 1$ for an exalt, which despite being illegal seems more than fair.

It's all a matter of economics, if they halved the price of all microtransactions would they sell double the amount to cover it? I highly doubt it.

The company made a decision on a business model

They decide on a free game.

They decided on a platform for players to support their game allowing them to purchase points, these points could then be used to purchase cosmetics and quality of life improvements for you to enjoy the game.

They did not sell the game at 79.99$ (this is the average NEW Game price for me in Canada)
They did not sell the game at 79.99$ and get you to pay a monthly subscription of $5, 10$ or even 20$ month where you do not get anything else.
They did not sell the game at 79.99 and have a Pay to Win (get better gear)
They did not sell the game at 79.99 and ask you to pay for DLC at 29.99 every 3 months, or 4 months or 6 months

They did not give the game away for free and have added on to it any of the other options I mentioned above.

If the game had a monthly subscription of 20$ would you be complaining about that then?
Would you still be playing the game?
Would you still be playing the game if they charge you 20$ every 3 months for DLC.

Black Desert Online, Elder Scrolls Online, Eve Online, WOW, COD, Fornite, Ark, Fallout 76, the list goes on and on all have pricing issues be it Full price and paid DLC, Free with paid DLC or cosmetics or anything else they offer in their games.

You got a free game, with free DLC every 3 months (besides Rockstar what other company gives you DLC every 3 months), with an "OPTION" to support them in a purchase of points to support the company.

cmon man, here in Ukraine we work for 200-300 bucks a month if its a good work (minimal salary is around 140$, so you can get the picture).
