POE skin prices... too high?
Compared to industry peers, GGG does have relatively higher mtx prices. But clearly they are pricing it at a point which is allowing them to grow. If they are not profiting, you can be sure they would have made tweaks to the prices.

They have tencent money now, the skins cost too dang much. So do skill effects especially since you might only use one skill a league and you won't see that effect again for months

" They don't have "Tencent money," that's not how a buyout works. The stock changed hands, which means Chris Wilson and/or other former shareholders now have "Tencent money," not GGG. Regardless, pricing for cosmetic MTX is quite simple. If a price drop would increase revenue, the current price is too high. If a price increase would increase revenue, the current price is too low. Simple. Whether the price is too high for you, the individual consumer, is a decision only you can make. |

Two words: perceived value.
To me, even on sale, most cosmetics in POE have low perceived value. I don't get very much for what I pay. Consequently, I haven't spent a penny since Incursion and I still have 300 points just sitting there. Even those "free" points would seem wasted to me if I were to spend them on any cosmetic in the cash shop. I realize that the money is already spent but I can't get past the ridiculously low perceived value of the cosmetics in this game. I wish I needed more stash tabs. At least those have some value to me if they are on sale. There are two types of POE players:
1) Those who want to walk uphill both ways barefoot on broken glass wearing a blindfold 2) F*cking noobs I identify as transnational Chinese. May I have access to their QOL features, please? |
