Inventory Tetris

Rotating, no.

Auto-arrange button, yes. Much easier to code auto-arrange than rotating.

This must be a joke...
How can auto-arrange be easier to code than rotate ? Have you ever coded something ?

would it not be easier to code auto arrange without rotating?

its worth the extra time investment either way

its a solid feature for this style of inventory
auto arrange will be good option to implement :)
id like to have the auto arrange feature rather than the flipping of items

Reason: i dont want to spend much time organizing my inventory i always feel that it disrupts the playflow more than going back to town and sell all the junk
I need a ... Shrubbery!
Just make the inventory 6(tall)x10(long) instead of the current 5x12 TBH. Same amount of "cubes" in your inventory, just effectively more usable space and user friendly. A rotate option would be OK... but this just seems far easier.

The inventory Tetris is kind of fun - well, maybe fun is not the word. But it's a trope of the genre.

I'm strictly against all of the auto-arrange, rotation etc shits so badly.
"This is too good for you, very powerful ! You want - You take"
I am a lover of diablo 2 so I have enjoyed this inventory set up for quite a while... however it does have it's catchs, Like I have read in an earlier post it would be nice to have a rotation system so that it's more like 'tetris' as the previous user stated, I also wanted to note that I recently played deus ex human revolution and they use a similar inventory set up, but is programed to auto fit items when they are picked up... and will rearrange items in the inventory if it can make space doing so.(they also allow rotation of items)
I love games where you can loot dead bodies...
I just wanted my money back...
if GTA has taught me anything right?...

Can somebody remind me why we have limited inventory space?

You're supposed to have to make hard decitions. And not being able to fit "everything" i inventory.
Prioritizing...

So I do not belive there will be made much changes to the inventory system.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I think it's fine the way it is.

I have definitely found that I've had wasted cells on likely 50% of my vendor trips, simply due to the fact that the majority of the vendor trash that I find (particularly at low levels) is 1x3, 2x3 or 2x4 in dimension (spikes aren't all that common). This would be easily fixed if there were more trash items that dropped that were Nx2.

Simply put, I suggest that the drop rate for blue trash might give me perhaps slightly boots / helms / belts than I get now.

PS: I think rotating would undermine the devs' obvious attempts to force difficult looting decisions on the player (and to discourage in-battle looting). Also, I'm in favour of the aforementioned weapon tab idea, which I made extensive use of in Diablo 2. At this point I suspect that I would use it for elemental focus switching on the fly, or having my mace Marauder switch up to a shield with a speed enhancement if I were in trouble / really needed to stun something.
I like the way Deus Ex Human Revolution did it, +1 for auto arrange
