So are you playing betrayal league but actually doing everything else but the syndicate
I am not skipping betrayal monsters(need challenges), but it is a bit of hit and miss. It is too easy to die. Bosses have 1 telegraphed one shot, betrayal monsters come in two, three and four at a time. All with a different one-shot. This means about every 0.2 second a 1-shot is being used by them. This is just stupid in my opinion. The hp on betrayal monsters is in line with the area level, however their one-shots need to go as they make these monsters feel like 15 levels above the zone level.
Add in map mods and it is even worse. Add in rushing to a timer(research lab) or fortifications(healing totems, mob spawns and tower attacks) and there is basically no winning. And this is on my ranged char, my cycloner doesn't stand a chance. Meet betrayal monsters and I am dead. This cycloner does the level map he is at with ease, but meet betrayals even in the lower maps and he's dead. On my ranged character I do not have many isues with betrayal monsters untill high red maps, but this is only because I kill them before they use their aoe's. This is why all the top tier meta players are sometimes not seeing issues wuth betrayal monsters. They kill them too bloody fast to even notice. As a normal player you will reach a point where you lose more experience than you gain, like I did on my cycloner. I had to abandon the character completely. This is in level content the character is able to easily take on! So on that note: Betrayal needs to get fixed to be in line with the level of zone a player is in. My solution would probably be to only let the main betrayal monster of the group you encounter use his one-shot aoe, none of the others using one-shot aoe's. PS: GGG should also stop betrayal monsters from running away completely. Finally I am winning without dying, and I miss out on alot of experience and betrayal options becauuse they are running away. |

Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

I need to do that lab trick that was mentioned here. Yep I've started to run away from all encounters while I'm at my first time entering red maps.
Luckily, I forgot you need to use vaal orbs for the map bonuses, and sold them all earlier. :P At least it makes any intervention encounters not as deadly, and I can still run away. I'll try to do lower maps and shove all the members into the lab. With that said, I managed to do Catarina on a yellow map a week ago, and even though I watched a vid of a guy struggling and eventually able to kill her, I tried to do the same with the totems and it just doesn't work sometimes. Died about 4 times and finally got her, somehow. Only thing notable was her helm, which reduced all mana reservations by 20ish %. Was cool because I didn't get my Mastermind of Discord yet, so I was able to use a few heralds plus another aura :D But yeah, I'm gonna avoid them from now on. Way too much HP, hard to tell which one is gonna use their one-shot skill, and summoner guys at fort have too much hp, hits to hard with their green orb of death, and the poison crawler also hits too hard at too far range. I kill most bosses in 10 seconds or less. Fort takes 2 minutes, risking death. Intervention about 40seconds- 1 minute, risking death. Lab was a bit easier, since I could kinda hide behind walls to avoid some of the death, but still, risky. |

Yeah at least with flameblasts I can tell why I exploded.

Leagues great and I do not understand why so many people are skipping the content (minus hardcore people obviously) I think it provides a great challenge and is interesting and unique enough to keep me coming back. I don't even go hardcore with the syndicate I just level dudes up and where they end up is where they end up and I still make plenty of currency on it.
TL;DR I do not skip the content and I love it. "Life isn't a problem to solve but a reality to experience." - Frank Herbert
