incursions are stupid

time limit stupid.

"green item"(key?) drops.
try picking it up get to a door time runs out.
try killing yellow mobs time runs out.

incursions are the frustrating and unsatisfied stuff i ever had to deal with.

Incursion was a league where clearspeed meta was the thing. Its pretty easy to clear a room in time but you need a build that can make it..

I kind of agree with you. I suppose the incursions could work normally without the timer too.

P.S.: You can improve your build a bit and it will be easier for you to clear incursions. If you drop those passives that give you fire damage + fire pen and cold damage + cold pen and instead take more mace physical damage. This will be a greater increase. Also, finish all your passive skill point quests for 4 extra passives.

I have 3 heroes, 1 is kinda fully equiped with solid gear, the other 2 are budget or a little bit over that.
And all of my heroes can clear the room and there is 10 sec left after i kill the last mob in it.
The timer is pretty okay and every build after 90 should not have problem with it.
Otherwise something is wrong with your build.
My problem with Incursions is the rewards Temple give, most of the time loot is complete garbage.
Rewards should be buffed.
There are two majour issues with incursion.

1. is the key, it's too random, you can enter the incursion slaughter everything, and still fail because the key is some how the last enemy, maybe a yellow you ignored as you didn't want to waste 3 seconds killing it.

2. And one I REALLY REALLY hate, it's the terrible horrible What the heck layouts that can cause you to fail before killing things at times, not because you suck, but because there is either nothing to kill for the first 6 seconds of the map *why do some maps have 1/4 of the map empty?* or dead ends or weird passages that make you waste time getting to enemies.
Dunno, haven't really had problems with Incursions and my setup is far from top tier. Summoners and shit might have problems with speed?
Incursions might be a problem for your current character, simply because it's not as good as it can be right now. But when you do improve your character- you will literally NEVER fail to clear an incursion because of the timer.

Remove those points you have invested into fire damage, cold damage, global defences, increased defences from your shield, warcry nodes etc. Take physical damage instead, melee damage, that sort of thing. Also, your gear can be improved also- Camera is not a great weapon, your right-slot ring etc.

Funny... These issues weren't had by any of us that actually played Incursion League; mechanically, there's no difference between incursions now and how they were then.

  • This game is balanced around a clear speed meta. You can generally suffer through content with a build that's garbage and unoptimized, (e.g, just take hours to do what most of us do in minutes) but incursions are where you will be given an upfront indicator of your build's failings.

    Someone suggest it was "wasting 3 seconds to kill" said mob, which is a pretty clear indication that their build is weak.

  • And mrchillgreen, you're running with a sunder build with... 23,690.9 Shaper DPS in PoB. This is... Barely adequate for basic mapping, and is definitely insufficient for actually doing stuff like incursions. The endgame is generally built around the assumption you have a six-figure DPS.

  • Stones of Passage are always dropped by rare (yellow-name) mobs or magic (blue-name) mobs. So yeah, if you skip rares, you'll frequently be skipping/missing those stones!

well my complaints are in maps I can kill most things instantly as I'm over leveled, if I can't kill fast thats my problem. But it's more like one I did earlier today.

where the top left corner I went through at the start had 0 mobs, wasn't till I was at the left mini boss that I actually ran into anything. Also there is the problem if rooms with dead ends, or long narrow passages with no enemies meaning you can't kill stuff while moving from one side to the other to keep the timer count going up. there is just a few maps with really bad design and spawn groupings that mean your spending too much time between groups, and thats with 50% movement speed when full berserk up, though could be faster I know. I shouldn't have to move through 3-4 rooms just to find a group of mobs.
I actually enjoy incursions, however, I think it is a waste and totally STUPID that it only caters to certain builds. Timers are ridiculous and not balanced... Why in the hell would you design a cool in-game feature only to limit the enjoyment with one or two of your characters??

I am on a character now I REALLY enjoy, but the incursion timers are way too short for me to even get a key. So guess what, I completely ignore Alva now which is really pissing me off I have to do that. I like to play the game at my own pace, challenge myself with different build ideas. So knowing I can't do this major portion of the game on something I enjoy, well... makes me want to say "Fuck this game"!

Anything going to be done about this? If not, plenty of other games we can all play...
