Beast Fur Shawl applies increased ES recharge instead of recovery
|
Hi,
I have Beast Fur and I thought, recovery from this item is applied as.. multiplier.. after all other increases are applied, as stated by Mark in https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1676002/page/171#p13842615 But, when I checked the game info/character info, it showed different number from PoB. So I thought.. chm, mby recovery from the chest is not shown in the character info at all, So I decided to test it. I bought chest armor with exactly the same amount of ES and equipped it - and the energy shield recharged per second in character info changed (and decreased) I checked with PoB and this new number was exactly right to how much recharge per second I should get. So I decided to investigate. I made item in PoB with same amount of increased ES recharge rate as how much recovery I have on Beast Fur - and the number now shown in PoB as my recharge rate per second matches the recharge rate shown in character info in game. I even recorded my recharge in hideout and jumped frame by frame, and there really was no recovery applied which would not show in character info - the recharge was as stated in character info. Thus, I came to conclusion, that the recovery - either in general or just on this item is not working as intended - Recovery is acting the same as increased recharge rate. Video that Beast Fur shawl changes your ES recharge rate even tho it should not : https://youtu.be/MCmAlLDLXqU Trying to show that with Beast Fur I am nowhere near 1.41 sec it should take recharge ES if recovery was working (1.96 if not working, 1.7 if working as inc recharge instead of recovery) - frost bomb with 1.74 duration for reference. To me, it definitely looks like with Beast Fur the recharge quite closely matches the frost bomb(= matching char info tooltip) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcgMkYPhYG0 P.S. And I know that bonuses from recovery should not show on character info, but then there is no reason for the number to change when I eq different armor with same amount of ES = even more reason to believe increased recharge is applied instead. How to reproduce: 1. Get some inc ES recharge rate (lets say 100% to easier calculation) 2. check you character info ES recharge per second 3. EQ Beast Fur Shawl - number changes as if you just eq item with increased ES recharge 4. Test that ES recharge is really the same as shown in character info. TLDR. ES Recovery on Beast Fur is acting like inc. ES recharge rate. Last edited by Nathaniell123#6942 on Dec 15, 2018, 12:48:13 PM Last bumped on Mar 13, 2019, 9:27:57 PM

Recovery is both recharge rate and regeneration, just as Mark states in your linked post. Not sure why you think it shouldn’t appear the same as recharge rate because it is exactly that when you aren’t regenerating or leeching.
It’s “increased”, not “more”, so your impression that it would be its own multiplier is wrong. It would get added to other increases and decreases. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

Well, if that was the case the majority of PoE community is understanding this mechanic wrong then.
Everyone I asked said that recovery does not show in character panel. And every recovery in Path of Building is coded as "more" multiplier in the program - which is also usually right when it comes to those things. Also, here is quote from wiki: Note that modifiers to Recovery Rate, such as Patient Reaper or "of Smothering" map modifiers are a multiplier to all recovery gained from recovery over time effects (Regeneration, non-instant Leech and Flasks, ...) and do not affect duration.
