Diablo style RPGs making a big comeback ?
Seems like those Diablo style RPG's are really coming back into style.
What do you think? Grim Dawn in development. Torchlight 2 POE Diablo 3 Would you consider KoA: Reckoning similar or not really? If there's any others let me know. |

You could include Dungeon Seige 3 on there, but that one sucked so bad it's probably best that you don't include it. ;)

while these games are certainly all quite interesting, i would appreciate some more games like the good old secret of mana, mixed with diablo elements.
the diablo initiated genre is really good, but i'd love to have some more direct control of the actions. in diablo-like games, every action/skill is initiated by a mouse click or a button push - no matter if it's a simple weapon attack or some spell/combo. i think it would be even more satisfactory to slay those 100 monsters not with single clicks, but some more 'artistic' combination of single attacks that then combine into bigger attacks :) edit: if you happen to know games that fall into the category i described above, please let me know ;) Last edited by Fenilita#2427 on Mar 17, 2012, 11:45:56 AM

" You raise interesting points. I don't know of any games like that but i'd like to. |

" Aren't that type of games normal hack and slash action games? |

" You might give Bastion a try. It's about as close as it gets to Secret of mana + Diablo that I can think of. The way the narrator tells the story of your actions is very cool as well. http://store.steampowered.com/app/107100/?snr=1_7_suggest__13 Last edited by RWTD_Burn#0944 on Mar 17, 2012, 2:50:44 PM

" hmm, most hack'n'slash games i came across fall into one of these categories: a) no role play feeling / no character development (that at least tries to make you think that you're the one developing the character) b) one button - one action - type of gameplay. maybe i'm just overseeing the games i'm looking for :P " yes, i've spotted that one a few days ago. i read through a review but it didn't really get me... thanks for the hint - i think i'll watch some gameplay videos. why didn't i do that in the first place -.- |
