Lack of 2nd weapon slot items (scabbards ) for 2h melee (staves too) hurt it s build diversity.
Scabbars as proposed in this thread (second item slot for 2-handers) should purely be QoL designed and not dps oriented.
Just like quivers are very heavy dps oriented item slots, scabbars should be the exact opposite and very heavy EHP/qol oriented item slots. Things like - % physical mitigation - move speed% - %increased aoe - % resistances - life and maybe %life - mana and maybe %mana - life/mana gain on hit - %blind on hit(also functional on spells) - X evasion/armour when standing still - X evasion/armour when moving - % onslaught on kill I think a slot like this would directly compete with shields/stat sticks and quivers and maybe even provoke some more 2-hand play if they can roll some very nice QoL modifiers. Then again this is another excercise in futility, if i recall correctly i have made around four threads on this topic already all with examples and suffix/prefix groups suited for this kind of "item-slot". This concept or issue isn't exactly new or introduced with "stat sticks" it was already prevalent before that with just shields and quivers and innate dual wielding bonuses. Clearly 2H melee weapons need a buff. I am not sure adding another item type is the solution, but these are interesting suggestions.
Any time someone suggests adding another item type I cringe a the thought of MORE loot types and further dilution. I would hope balance could be achieved within the item itself - maybe allow an extra couple of affixes on 2h'ers? Buff damage and speed and 2H skill damage scaling somehow? |

Gladiator is more played than Slayer in literally all Delve leagues at the moment.

To have 2x 6l item, to one is a huge advantage.
Two handers also have huge advantage by Kaom`s Heart. Everyone can have their opinion, but i have Marauder and to me two handers is not and never was in bad spot, compare to the others option. Of course some some of the style will be on top, but to me the position is like this - Dual Wield, two handers, one hand + shield. I can speak what i see and play, and atleast for me it`s like this. Melee is the worst for clear speed and MF gearing. So every character type can suggest nerf to other one, and can cry for this or that. And you can`t just say from a build you see, before you know how much he is spend into this build, and how heavy he invest in DMG passive for example, and how low his defences are. There is too much factors, to say this is op or suck from a video. I have Marauder and Gladiator. My Marauder have 1,5k more Life, a lot more dmg and clear speed, a lot higher defence, and i invest 10x time less then my Gladiator, yet is better. Wanna link you my items and show my hero ? My Gladiator is one hand + shield, if i put Dual Wield on POB, my damage is tripled. You see me crying for this, and to want Shield Build? Balancing is not for us, there is a team, that know better then me and you. Balancing suggestion from players is wrong. Everyone is biased and looked in his hero and want balance in a way his hero get advantage. Or someone is crying for a nerf, simply because hes hero/build is weaker then some other he see somewhere in a video or guide. That is purely stupid and should not be done. There is a team, and based purely on their experience of the game and if they decide 2h need to be buffed, dual wield need to be nerfed, then i`m okay with it. |
