An Offline / Singleplayer mode? (with cash shop)

It sounds like a good idea, but for the work it doesn`t seem to profitable for GGG. I don`t assume too many people will be paying real money in the cash shop for a character that is limited to offline game play, especially since the character will have to be separated from the online game play. Maybe if only the NX items you bought were transferable then it might seem like a better idea.

" I know,I just don't understand why does it matter the person cheats or not.The characters are never going to go online.Cheating is OK in SP.I'm not saying anything about how much work it would be. |

" If you can cheat in singleplayer, you can more easily cheat in multiplayer, because you have the codes on your comp.Codes on your computer are mostly same as on their server. It is more easier to make hacks for multiplayer if you have access to the code (if the game has offline mode, then you have full access on your computer). |

I like this suggestion, but wouldnt that make the game more like Diablo 2 and Titan quest?!

But,why would anyone cheat online,that's just...evil

" There are many reasons people cheat online: Some people just want to harass other players and ruin the game. Others are too lazy to work for wealth and just cheat. Also, moral standards don't really work in the Internet Wonderland. =y Last edited by Wonderglue#1074 on Mar 19, 2012, 2:33:16 PM

" People are going to cheats no matter what. If this game remains online-exclusive and it is in fact harder to get the necessary coding to make trainers and bots etc., then one can argue that it's going to occur no matter what you do. It's also not fair to the player base to deny the option of offline play just because of the threat of cheating. That's what detection software is used for and I'm certain GGG is going to implement it at some point. They appear to care about this game a great deal. " You didn't fully read my initial post. It contains an idea for importing cash shop items via a code, same as beta keys. Said item can be purchased and the code inserted into your account here, making it available to your offline character. Last edited by Kess9215#4538 on Mar 19, 2012, 5:00:43 PM

Knowing the code does not mean that you have access do modify it and cheat. People will be able to cheat in offline play, if such is made, not much can be done to stop it. If the game is coded properly that will not be a concern for online play.
I also wish that there would be an offline play option. I hate blizzard for making D3 online only and will most likely not buy it because of that. | |
" Alright, so I look for different things when I'm playing online and when I'm playing a single player game. Has nothing to do with being able to cheat or not, I just enjoy different things. But in regard to the specific topic at hand... essentially what you're asking for is a server emulator. I wouldn't recommend making one of those for a beta build. But what I think you're really asking for, even if you don't know that you're asking for it, is a game with a good single player experience. I'm all for that, and this game could go in that direction, but I'd much rather the company not try to serve two masters at this point. Let them push the game to gold first, and then we'll talk about arcade releases that are more story-centric. IGN : Reamus
