An Offline / Singleplayer mode? (with cash shop)

As I understand, with the current online mode the players will be able to download and play the game, free of charge with the cash shop in place to support the developers.

Having suffered internet problems for a few days now, I was pondering the idea of an offline mode. Here are my thoughts:

Players can download the game same as online, however for offline they pay for the game itself a small fee, say $5-10 (game is worth more, in my opinion, just tossing numbers.)

Anyone using the offline mode can use cash shop items via codes they receive in the mail after purchasing whatever they need. Said code is entered in-game or by way of this website. Or whatever works. Just tossing ideas out there.

When you think about it, there won't be any difference between this (assuming it can be implemented), and Diablo / Diablo II.

I don't really know how any of this can be worked out. Like I said, I've been having internet connectivity problems for the past few days and not being able to play this game has me very bored. When I'm bored I just think of random things.

Let me know what you guys think.

Offline mode could be used for cheats! However,if we can have separate characters for both modes, then I don't really see a problem.I'm having lots of internet issues too these days.
My suggestion entails having offline characters permanently separated from online characters to eliminate the possibility for cheating.
Yea separate them completely, if you make an offline character it stays offline permanently. Otherwise people will go offline, cheat, come online and rape the world dry.
Perhaps just let all the people who want into Beta onto an offline version.

That way they can report any bugs via forums and still get to play.

I would suggest no offline in final product.

+1 for Offline Beta Trial!
Hardcore Duelist - "Kirkoz"
Hardcore Ranger - "Crikey".2(Note to self, walls dont always offer protection.)
Default Ranger - "Elvish" (Hardcore alot harder since patch, I LIKE IT)
Keep in mind that this suggestion is mostly for those who have limited or no internet access, yet who enjoy this genre of games.

I know for sure that if/when I get stationed out on a boat and I'm in the middle of the Pacific with little to no internet, I would still love to play this title.
I think this is a pretty good idea.
A lot of people have issues with their net these days.
Net goes down for a week and can't play any of the games because you need a net connection.
This game is designed to be a MMO. If they would want to make a single player, they would need to work a lot, to convert it to single player. Also, they would need to code single player different if they want to make cheating harder. It's too much work for a indy studio of 15 people, and a game that will be F2P. Evan blizz didn't do it, even if they have the resources.

It would be the same as soloing online,Ragnar. And if a player wants to cheat in single player, what's stopping him?
What bad does he do when he cheats in offline mode with a separate character?

Its not same. A lot of thing are done on server, and not on you computer, no metter if your solo or not.
You cannot access there code on server and cheat.
If it has a offline mod, all code would be on your computer, and you could access it, and make more easily cheats. So if they want to stop it,they would need to code it different for singleplayer, and different for multiplayer. Its a lot of work.
