Mivvi’s Mirror Thread - #1 Wand in PoE, #1 ES RF Helm, #1 ES RF Belt
|
Hi! And welcome to Mivvi’s mirror thread!
IGN: Mivviar A Brief History I started playing PoE way back in Closed Beta when only Act 2 was available and have hardly touched another game since. I admit I’m an extremely casual player and like to explore and get through the content slowly. Now that I’ve completed the content available, I’d like to turn my eye to crafting and “min-maxing” characters and builds. To do that, I have the pleasure of utilising some amazing crafts from my mates Mortalo and MaiCedere in the thread below. You can check out their original mirror threads here and here if you want to browse their wares! The Mirror Process If you’re unfamiliar with the process, don’t worry; I’m here to help! It’s simple: all you need are the chromatic orbs required to craft the colours you need on my item alongside your Mirror of Kalandra to subsequently copy said item. I will then trade you back your copied item for the appropriate fee! If you’re unsure, I can trade you collateral to subsidise the Mirror. The Small Print - Don’t worry if an item isn’t “Verified” – I use these items on my characters; it would be a waste if they were collecting dust in my stash! - The buyouts listed are for indexing purposes only. - My timezone is GMT and I normally play in the evenings, so please don’t worry if I’m not online at the same time as you. Please feel free to PM me and we can organise a time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Main Event Listed below are a few items available for mirroring – I hope to add to my collection so watch this space! The #1 Wand in PoE: Corruption Bite Imbued Wand Mirror fee: 100ex
Affix Breakdown
T0 Added Lightning Damage – Prefix can only be crafted by using a Deafening Essence of Wrath
T2 Increased Lightning Damage – One of the rarest prefixes in the game and only 5% difference versus T1 T1 Gain 20% of Elemental Damage as Extra Chaos Damage – A prefix available from The Shaper that is an extra 20% on top of your Tooltip DPS value T1 Critical Strike Multiplier – One of the rarest suffixes and a significant boost to overall DPS T2 Critical Strike Chance – Increases the base critical strike chance of the weapon and only 4% difference versus T1 Master Crafted Attack Speed – Highest available Master Crafted attack speed
What makes this the #1 wand?
Single Element – You only need to specialise in one type of damage: Lightning. This means you won’t suffer from diminishing marginal returns trying to spec your characters into other sources of damage and resistance penetration. Shock – You’ll be shocking everything with this wand gives you an extra 50% damage. Jewels – Being able to supplement your passive tree and gear with jewels means you can stack elemental damage that way and far outpace any other elemental or physical wands out there. The #1 ES RF Helm in PoE: Brood Glance Hubris Circlet Mirror fee: 100ex
Affix Breakdown
Righteous Fire Damage – Extremely rare 40% increased Righteous Fire damage from Eternal Labyrinth. T1 Increased Maximum Energy Shield – Perfect legacy T1 prefix not available on ES gear anymore. 17 ES higher than highest current T1 mod. T2 Increased Energy Shield % – Legacy T2 prefix not available on ES gear anymore. 32% higher than highest current T1 mod. T2 Increased Energy Shield and Stun Recovery % – Legacy T2 prefix not available on ES gear anymore. 4% lower than highest current T1 mod. T2 Intelligence – Suffix adding 11% increased ES. 5 Intelligence lower than T1. T1 Fire Resistance – Perfect T1 suffix. T1 Cold Resistance – T1 suffix 2% off perfect.[/u]
What makes this the #1 RF ES Helm?
Total ES – This helm is the highest ES helm in the game with the help of legacy ES mods and a high Intelligence roll adding an additional 11% increased maximum ES. With RF, the best offence is a good defence. Enchant – The 40% Righteous Fire enchant is one of the rarest and most sought after enchants in the game. Resistances – They need to be filled out somewhere! The #1 ES RF Belt in PoE: Golem Strap Stygian Vise Mirror fee: 50ex
Affix Breakdown
T1 Reduced Damage from Critical Strikes – Prefix only available on Shaper items and there are very few Shaped Stygian Vises in existence. T2 Energy Shield – Adds to both defence and damage on an RF build and only 6 ES difference versus T1. Master crafted movement speed – Highest available Master Crafted movement speed. T0 Intelligence – Suffix can only be crafted using a Deafening Essence of Spite. T1 Remove Freeze and Chill – Suffix only available on Shaper items and gives all of your flasks a pseudo-third affix. T1 Increased Energy Shield Recovery Rate – Suffix multiplying the rate at which ES is recovered.
What makes this the #1 ES RF belt?
Abyssal Socket – Stygian Vises are considered the best belts in the game because of the implicit mod. In addition to the explicit mods, you can insert a jewel with additional offence (e.g. Fire Damage %) or defence (e.g. Increased Maximum Energy Shield). Reduced Damage from Critical Strikes – This is one of very few sources of protection from deadly spike damage. The other sources include the Indomitable node on the passive tree between the Templar and Marauder areas and a few unique mods. Energy Shield Recharge Rate – This is one of the best sources of additional ES defence in the game. It is a multiplier in addition to the Energy Shield Recharge per second stat on your character sheet. Last edited by Mivvi#0492 on Oct 29, 2018, 11:44:04 AM Last bumped on Aug 25, 2019, 2:45:43 PM

using a wand which you can't utilize taste of hate for both dps & additional defenses is so 2014.
ToH is like roughly 38% phys damage reduction. basically you need 8200 health to be able to as tanky as 6000 life char with ToH. "You have great power. You're right to be proud. It's unfortunate you have to die now, but I will honor you with 45% of my strength." Last edited by Rupenus#5905 on Oct 28, 2018, 6:15:21 PM

" Hey! Thanks for your opinion. If we're going for raw DPS, Corruption Bite beats Blood Thirst. Whether a wand is used or not, characters can still utilise the defensive aspect of Taste of Hate. Aside from that, there are a plethora of different ways to mitigate phys damage so I guess it's just a matter of "taste". |
|
" Is much harder to build around corruption bite compared to blood thirst since you need really good abyss jewels to get it running, while blood thirst can still function amazingly with rest of the gear being relatively budget, also you no longer have DPs advantage if you put ToH (for deffences) in replacement of a dps flask like atziri promise for corruption bite build. |

" Good points, but when someone is paying a fee and a mirror for a copy of a wand, a handful of ex to acquire some decent Abyss jewels is an afterthought. And yes I agree - you obviously wouldn't use a Taste of Hate with Corruption Bite in favour of an alternative DPS flask. My point was, you could use alternative source of phys damage reduction like a Lightning Coil and have similar defences. The fact that ToH doesn't add any additional DPS whilst using Corruption Bite doesn't mean it isn't the #1 wand in the game. |

DPSwise, ele wands still have better dps, but let's take a look to the comparisons.
this is the benchmark build i've done for Blood Thirst. https://pastebin.com/zX0A0ASn 46M DPS as you can see. https://pastebin.com/GUWQTxYW 46.6M with dual Corruption Bite and 2 mod watcher's eye, probably 48M~ is possible with 3 mod watcher's eye. In these comparisons, while ele wander has 60% cold resistance with a special diamond flask i crafted to help to deal with that problem, phys wander has no resistance maxing problems. I bought all my similar phys wand jewels for 15-40ex while to get such perfect ele wander jewels you have to mirror them. That's a bit costly. Yet, a league player who hoarded good but non perfect jewels each for 50-60ex would have only about 10% less damage. I think your wand has better performance/cost rate than any other wand/weapon, cause as solo Blood Thirst's damage really falls behind ele wands, thus, customers have to buy a pair of BT to be able to have competitive dps. Same for bows... bow jewels, quivers are just ridiculously pricey nowadays. Even though i tend to like using ToH for obvious reasons, I Believe this is a fair comparison and will help customers to choose whatever they want. The Edgelords who dont care about phys damage def and aim to get the most T H I C C dps for cheap, should consider getting this wand for sure. "You have great power. You're right to be proud. It's unfortunate you have to die now, but I will honor you with 45% of my strength." Last edited by Rupenus#5905 on Oct 29, 2018, 9:40:07 AM

" But you also have to consider the opportunity cost of using something like a Lightning Coil. If ele wanders have to swap out damage gear for defensive gear just to reach the same level of defenses as a phys wander, their dps falls behind. By #1 wand, are you referring to the maximum damage output possible using the best dps gear currently in existence? Or do you mean it's #1 in a semi-budget setup like Tomahawk's Queenliness Wanderfinder? Or do you mean it's #1 using non-existent gear? If the latter two, then I absolutely agree with you. But in realistic high end setups, if you don't use Taste of Hate, you pretty much can't be resist capped since all BIS gear focuses on damage. Phys wanders have access to Grim Nail, which helps tremendously with resist cap. But for ele wanders, there's no equivalent. You have Foe Whorl which helps reach the str requirement, and Loath Grip is pure damage, but where do the resists come from? You can't run around unable to cap your cold resists even with flasks up. And as soon as ele wanders try to get resist capped, their damage becomes worse than phys wanders. I'm all for tool-tip warrioring and maximizing dps at the expense of survivability, but I think we can all agree being at the bare minimum resist capped should be a priority. The source of Aspect of the Cat should also be considered. Ele wanders don't have an elegant dps solution like Tempest Locket for phys wanders. The closest thing I've seen is Horror Braid, but that one lacks a T1 flat lightning. Corpse Rosary can provide more damage, but then you would need to get cat aspect from Eagle Spiral which is less efficient overall from a dps standpoint. It's pretty much undisputed Corruption Bite is the #1 ele wand, but idk about it being the #1 overall wand. I understand you kinda have to put that since mirror services are a business at the end of day. But I think right now, ele wander gear just hasn't developed far enough to maximize Corruption Bite's full potential, and hence it lags behind Blood Thirst by a little bit. If people bothered to make better gear for ele attack builds, for sure Corruption Bite would be better for pure dps. Last edited by Enahkra#7073 on Oct 30, 2018, 7:48:35 AM

unfortunately so, since majority of the crafters are completely focused creating items for bow users which where the money really is, that benefits phys wand builds too.
(in my comparisons that ele wander has aspect of the cat out of nowhere) "You have great power. You're right to be proud. It's unfortunate you have to die now, but I will honor you with 45% of my strength." Last edited by Rupenus#5905 on Oct 30, 2018, 10:26:19 AM

Hey guys!
Great to have these debates - thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm of the opinion that if you are to invest in a mirror-tier wand, one should go for the wand with the highest potential DPS, with or without accompanying gear. Having said that, below is a build with items currently in existence and illustrates a slightly higher DPS with dual Corruption Bite versus dual Blood Thirst. And it's without Taste of Hate: https://pastebin.com/UM3SnKML Granted, it all depends on how one builds their character, and Taste of Hate is a significant DPS boost for a relatively cheap price (i.e. versus other mirror equipment). But the fact remains: Corruption Bite is the #1 overall wand. But you're right in that the crafting focus right now is very much centred around phys items given they can also be utilised by bow builds. I'm hoping that if (probably "once") Delve gets included in the main game that KB will become more popular in STD. |
