Path of Exile Craft Competition

Is 3d-Printing crafting? If I start the printer by hand? :D
Cosplays, awesome. I assume there aren't any limitations to how you cosplay as long as you fit into the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast? If so I can't wait to start making one!

im pretty sure if you process it past the printing bit

paint it or cast etc it could be considered

alot of people use 3d printers to make casting molds etc.

im doing Aul's Uprising it seems ;)

10cm print is already being processed by the printer atm

Might even oversize it to bring out the detailing i put in a bit more
Also considering if i want to cast it or just paint it now

modelling is prettymuch done

For a moment I thought its fossil crafting competition...
good no 3d printed garbage
This is cool, gl to crafters :)

Yeah i agree with the post above... 3d printing shouldn't be allowed imo, it's not really crafting anything with your hands.
Quit after Legion, rejoined PoE to see what the game's like now in 3.12.

i dont think you understand how 3d modelling works.

You are still making a model by hand, its just digital before you print it.

(i just wanted to add game assets even if available are nowhere near the level of detail needed for a good 3d print, by their design their polycount is low to work well in games)
And that would lead to facetted 3d prints, not to mention most of their detail comes from textures.. wich are not printable.

it still can cost significant time, and you have to cope with the print process.

Wich involves clean-work post printing such a removing supports and cleaning supported area's, tons of smoothing and sanding (because print layers)

litterally the few gains you have is an undo button when you make a mistake modelling.

None of that is present for mistakes past the printing process though.

i dont see how its any different from making a clay mold and casting it in say urethane.

or using a CnC router to cut something out of wood.

whats next banning sciscors because not everyone has one at home?
