ZiggyD Static Strike

ignoring chains its just BV with a higher gear requirement, if you roll chains I can see it being pretty effective though. Main uses are padding with cyclone, CoC or autobomber lite but i'm not entirely sure its going to excel at any of those.

I'm quite excited to use it though I actually made a pob for it before I saw ZiggyD's video for it but its a pretty standard static strike tree for now until I see whats hot and whats not. Wondering what lab enchants its getting i'm thinking +2 targets hit but they sometimes go with cool shit like phys as lightning or things like that.

The interesting thing here is that the beams scale off of weapon damage, but have a fixed proc frequency. Ziggy almost touched on it in his video, but weapon attack speed does screw-all for the secondary beam strikes; if you're focusing on those for clear, you want the single largest damage number you can get. Somebody mentioned Brain Rattler earlier, which is honestly an interesting notion because first of all it's dirt friggin' cheap since nobody wants it, and second of all it has a huge damage value but miserable attack speed. Static Strike's clearbeams completely bypass the miserable APS on Brain Rattler, while Brain Rattler finishes converting your damage to lightning without wasting a gem slot, gives you flat shock chance and bonus penetration, and adds some snare effects to your shocks as well. Yeah, the chance to flee thing sucks, but you're Static Striking - you can just chase them down if they run.

I do like the idea of a more mobile build that can run-gun without being oh-God-make-it-stop-I-can't-take-the-ugly Cyclone or requiring seven pieces of weird interlocking gear a'la old Wormblaster or however the hell you build an autobomber. Get some duration bonuses so your charges (and Phase Runs) last longer, get a bulky Chief to help soak fire while you're hiding in a Phase Run...could be a very interesting thing to try and run and a good use of an item I've always liked but struggled to use effectively.

hmm. ya you're right. brain rattler would be nuts. it'll be the lightning version of ngamahu's flame with probably just as effective results
