Chayula is actually worse than Elder

Chayula's damage is physical and chaos damage. A character with no defense is gonna get chunked with just chaos res.

Same. Shaper and Uber Atziri were both very memorable to me since I ripped so many sets before killing them.

i wanted to try chayula while waiting for the new league but when i saw the price for the stone was 2 ex, no thanks. even in league it was over 100 chaos while the other 4 were 10 or so chaos each.

The cost of Chayula does make it prohibitive for the typical player to "practice", but at the same time it also made it that much more rewarding for me as a player to finish it before running out of portals.

Elder on the other hand I've had much more practice with and getting to "practice" that fight so much more often it was mostly just a motivator to improve damage between him and regular Atziri.

(Speaking of Atziri, I'm still annoyed I never got her room to max in incursion).

But as for dude wanting content to be "more accessible", the reality is if you can't risk the resources its extremely likely you would fail miserably. Dumping your currency into expensive fights and failing are a quick way to turn people off any game.

Did Chalupa last night for the first time finally because I had 175 splinters painstakingly collected over a few leagues, so I made the breachstone. It was definitely satisfying to defeat him to finish Achievement #109. - 60 chaos resist, wasn't pretty, but it got done -

In other news, who knew this could drop from Xoph in a normal Breach?! Well, it did, last night in a map, and I upgraded it with a spare Blessing I had lying around...

Shaper, I've tried it twice on two different builds and haven't beat him yet. I'm a slow learner. Third time, I reckon it's doable. The Chalupa/ Shaper thing? Shaper's harder because of the sustained concentration and different mechanics to learn, I think.

@erdelyii congrats! I got the chest, but looks like the jewel is better.
Also, that Xoph ring is the reason I have a viable character now. selling it in Incursion made the gear for my main char possible.

Shaper? he is harder yes. but he's a more fair fight in my opinion.

Chayula chaos dmg all the way. Boss hits with phys cyclone additionaly. So with immun or decent chaos res its walk in the park. You really should stop listen to chat with "dont need chaos res" msg cause developers clearly make chaos monsters more of a threat. There was not almost any chaos bosses besides Chayula for a long time and now we have poison elder guard boss and insane Acid Lakes map boss.

No it's not a walk in the park. I had 64 chaos res and Chayula still hit me like a bulldozer.

It's not about chaos damage bosses. The chaos damage Elder Guardian is my favorite actually, because he's a fun fight and he's not #$$& Eradicator.

It's about boss design - and here also area design - that feels like it is trying to stick a finger in your eye.
Anything from the annoying mine bridge tileset that's 10 pixels wide, to the bullet hell cyclone inside a tiny arena with invulnerable clones BS.
