Color Blind

Please make this happen.

Just some different shapes for the sockets would already help soo much!

I would suggest having different shapes as well. But, if this goes through, I think it's important not to make the mistake of picking shapes that are too similar. (After all, that's the problem we're trying to solve here.)

The more distinction there is between the shapes, the less you have to think while looking at your inventory. And while this "thinking" happens in milliseconds and most people would argue it doesn't matter, it's exactly these details that make the difference in how you feel about the quality of the interface. Especially when it comes to an important and often used feature like gems.

So, instead of choosing for the "pretty" option with fancy shapes, I think it's important to let form follow function here, and go with the most basic of shapes like circle, square, triangle. After all, how pretty something looks, although more noticeable because you consciously pick it up, wears off in about a week. How good something works, stays with you throughout the game.

Couldn't agree more.

I am colorblind myself aswell but I have no trouble with the gems.

What I do have trouble with is the map, on almost every bright floored map when I open the full map it almost hurts to try and see where I actually am or where I've not been to yet.

I also have quite a few problems because of being color-blind. Mainly sockets / gems and certain zones like others have mentioned.

So yea, it would be great to get some color-blind friendly improvements. ;S

I agree with many of these posts as I too have difficulty distinguishing certain items, particularly gems, by color.
Adding text to items that state the color like, "Red Gem" and "Has 1 red socket" or something like that, would be enough to satisfy me.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who has had problems with this.

Im not colorblind myself, but a friend of mine is. Its pretty hard for him to play, he has to post me every item, np aslong as i am online, but he is allmost unable to play alone ;(

I think some sort of colorblind mode is pretty needed, or a bunch of players will quit cause they have to do a gem roulette ;)

I actually posted earlier because I couldn't find anything with a red socket. If I REALLY look, it kinda looks orange, but I can't really tell it from the green.

FYI, I can see the red just find in the health potions, and the health bubble. Not sure how the other color blind/full/partial people see that red, but it would be great for me if the gem slots were that red color.

BTW, I /think/ I had no problem with the red slots during beta, this new update really messed them up for me though. O.o

Another colour blind here, and I can tell that both red and yellow (or is it green?) sockets look exactly the same for me... It is not when items are not picked up yet and still on te ground (the little squares near the name of the item).

The simplest wat of solving this : add an option "colour blind" which adds the letter R B and G (or Y dunno ^^), in the middle of the socket.

Also, i second the fact that apes are invisble in the forest, i realy cannot see them...

And last, I don't know if there's currently a different colour for the portal/wisdom scrolls... But if it exists It's pretty useless for as i can't make the difference between them ^^... This is less preoccupant than the gem issue because i use different places in my inventory for each kind of scrolls and it is clear that way.
