Delve Frequently Asked Questions

Ok, as the current Incursion is my first event, I'm wondering how the different STASH boxes are handled when a character is moved to a league where other characters exit (and are sharing the same STASH)?

Thanks! (Also happy to see that Incursion will be added to the Standard league in Dec! :) )
If you have completely empty stash tabs available in Standard, they are going to be filled first. When no empty tabs are available anymore, new remove-only tabs are added to the stash. You could put an item into every stash tab in Standard before Incursion ends to force remove-only tabs for everything

A few special events have been voided in the past, meaning nothing gets transfered to the permanent leagues and characters can't be played anymore after the event. It's stated in the event announcement.

Like this, in case of the Incursion Flashback Event:

WONDERFUL! SO glad to hear that :)

It definitely makes for continued and extended gameplay (something very rare these days)!

KUDOS! :)
What is the maximum speed of the Crawler?
The base speed is proportional to your run speed. For example. if you use a Quicksilver Flask, that speed increases. The Crawler can also move faster than your run speed if you get in front of it via movement skills. All of this is really not important because the monsters are hard enough that the challenge is not being left behind. You're not escorting the Crawler, it's escorting you.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

This will ruin the league but you will see that and patch it in later after it's already dead i guess.

Can I bypass leveling in other areas of the game and spend most of my time exclusively in the mine?
No. You have to play the regular game to get Voltaxic Sulphite so that you can play Delves.

Shame, so we have to map again... :( but maps are not found in delves, so we are punished twice.
Deleted.
Player numbers are plummeting.

naaaa, people will just stay ahead of the crawler and go their own speed pretending the crawler isn't there.

If anything having to keep up with the crawler will make it more challenging. Like those old mario levels where the screen moved on its own and you you had to stay ahead of the left edge of the screen. However, unlike those mario levels there will be none of that "to far ahead" while waiting for platforms to spawn on the right side of the screen :). Win/Win

And losing everything the cart picks up on death. Who thought up that idea?
In every other part of the game, when you die you still get a chance to get your loot ( even in lab, since you pick up loot as you go ). I don't even want the cart to pick up loot if that's the case, I want it to leave all the items on the ground for me to pick up.

Since we aren't afforded the same 6 portal "safety net" like normal content ...are we seriously going to be frustrated by constantly running "maps" for single attempts? Did the designers of this content really feel ( oh I'm sure Chris did ), that players putting all their eggs into a single basket with not getting rewarded until a completed delve, was a rewarding experience? Are we playing Dead Cells now, where you have to always complete something to 100% in order to get anything?

How did we go from Bestiary "all or nothing" attempts ( that people hated ) to Incursions "rewarded for how good you did" ( that people liked ) back to Bestiary attempts again?

This^^

This is the overwhelming reason I will NOT be playing Delve league.

Running a however-long-it-may-be Delve, just to RIP on dc/lag/exploding monster(s)/insane mob/stun/freeze/Bleed-with-antibleed-flask-empty, with nothing to show for it. Just a complete and utter waste of time.

Oh, and don't tell me - do you lose 10% xp on death too?

I have to second this - you tend to die FAR too often in the regular game. To lose everything you just gained SERIOUSLY makes it undesirable and overly frustrating. Losing the exp on death is bad enough. You should not, imho, lose everything you have collected, or the areas you have already mapped/cleared (if you go right back in). This was an issue when the game was first release, which I spoke up about, and the sole reason I stopped playing it for so long. I was VERY happy to see that they "fixed" that aspect in the current release - please let's not take a step *backwards*. :)

Ehh... This only raises more questions than answers for me.

I feel like movement skills will be shit this league. No flickering strike or charged dash builds I guess. Also channel skills might be fucked too.

No max stacks on darkness?!?! So death 100% guarantee unless you stick by a stupid cart. That picks ups your items? So when you die you get nothing? And not even a chance to redo? Sounds 100% lame. But lets celebrate GGG has found another way to punish your char for dying. As if dying wasn't punishment enough.

So light radius is even more useless and unimportant. And on a patch where you rework lighting? Seems odd but ok.

One Random static delve per character... But if you join a party you don't get solo credit for it? Even if you carried? I guess GGG really do hate player interaction. I could understand this choice if delves reset or something. But having it generate one random time per char + this. Sounds awful. Like really really bad. How does one get solo credit for a char, but also likes to play with his friends?

While some parts sound cool and interesting. The things I listed above will probable ruin it for me.

I really don't think people are going to like creating new characters just so they can Delve a little bit differently. Or get that solo ranking once they realize they can't for going to deep with a friend.

I am totally underwhelmed by this league. And the potential chance of getting notifications about players progress all league long. Is just another turn off for me.

Edit: started a discussion about it here.

It's sad, as I was really looking forward to a new aspect of the game, but I just don't feel that this was thought through enough by the design team. FAR too many negatives with it at this point. I'm sure there will be some who want to play it (I'm betting mostly the Hardcore leaguers), but I expect the majority of players will pass on it (yeah, maybe they'll try it out for a bit, but then get quickly disillusioned by all the negative aspects).

Do I like the concept? Heck yeah, I love it! It's the execution of the details that is (currently) spoiling it. I will be very surprised (but delighted!) if any of these negatives get "fixed" by the scheduled release time.

As a designer myself, I see SO much unrealized potential in this game, it's quite saddening.

IMHO, the whole trade system could/should be re-worked - there are literally TONS of possibilities that could be done with it. The skill tree is great (probably the most detailed of any game I know), but even it could still be expanded, with new skills and branches.
Damn.. movement skills like flicker strike and charged dash are my favorite..
