Greater Rifts now in Path of Exile. Are we doomed?
It's not really infinite , you will reach a point where you can't progress any further .
But if the gear that drops at bottom levels gives you power to progress infinitely then Ill eat my words |

" Exactly right. Not sure show this "ruins the game" (because it slightly smells of D3?, cmon..). Finally people won't get bored by playing content for which they are completely over-geared and over-levelled. Sounds awesome. When night falls

" Instead they will be bored because they're running the same exact content over and over again..just with slightly higher numbers. This is beyond incursion levels of burning out. Greater Rifts were the worst thing Blizzard did next to the Real Money AH for Diablo 3. The game was fine with its finite difficulty curve ...adding an infinite scaling system just threw everything out of balance and constantly gave the devs a headache and chore when balancing things. You think power creep is bad in PoE now? Wait until the metric keeps getting pushed every patch because some other build could do "Delve Floor 20" faster than the other ones. Soon everyone is going to be bitching about needing to all clear "Delve Floor 160" after a year or two of continuously pushing the bar unintentionally. At least with the current Atlas progression, players know where they stand, and can achieve the content with more varying builds. With infinite scaling there is literally only 1 build; whichever is the one that goes the farthest. |

" Then you don't understand anything. There are infinite dungeons and there are terrible designed, stupid, infinite dungeons. Delve is obviously the second. The league mechanic and infinite dungeon should be seperate things. Let me give you an example, running an infite dungeon once a day or so is fine, like a daily quest. Running an infinte dungeon an infinite amount of times a day and making it part of the core mechanic for the expansion, even if you only farm, is stupid. |

To me it looks like Delve will be connected to movement speed (for looting) and clear speed, pretty much like everything else.
The cart is going to go just as fast for all builds without its cart upgrades. Outside of light radius dont think it will have one build that is head and shoulders above the others unless it gets to a insane dps needed to keep up with the cart. Projectiles may reach the enemies quicker then melee. But to me it looks more balanced then some are imagining, as long as your build has some movement speed to off road for some loot. " This is not an mmo, it's loot based ARPG, if you could go dungeons only 1-2 times a day then what's the point of dungeons? Last edited by tazass#6059 on Aug 10, 2018, 3:36:26 AM

" WTS all the good socketable thingys - 10 ex each. You probably wont' as all the top options will be crazy expensive and owned by top players, unless you are one of course :) |

Personally I'm a bit cautious about infinite anything as I'm kindof a compulsive completionist, but fuck it, I'm working on that.
