1 abyssal socket is absolute trash while 2 socket is BiS...
" Do you even play the game ? But he ( and others here ) clearly does, and is speaking out of understanding of economics, but also from experience. Nice for you if you are living in a world were most items are just perfect, with t1 rolls everywhere. PS : Tombfist also has an attack speed roll, there isn't a 15% attack speed difference between a Tombfist and you amazing rare gloves. But you were already somewhat contradicting yourself by claiming that a rare pair of gloves can give you so much damage ( more than 10% more, which is not actually true when you see the big picture ), right after claiming how offensively powerful eye jewels can be. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" Really? What Abyss zone level you talking about? For zone levels 73-81 I can say: I farmed pretty much all abyss items including the chest armor in HC SSF Flashback Incursion and oke the splinters are for sure deadly if a player stays 1 second too long in them, but yea, just move out of them, the player got enough time for doing so. I dont even know how the other lichs besides splinter liege are supposed to oneshot players. For me only the splinters were a danger of death and my chars took 10% increased damage. " What? nooo omg, i meant, 1 abyss jewel is overpowered, but tombfist with only 1 abyss jewel is just a 10% attack speed 6% life, 50 flat life, the other stats and maybe 10% more damage. A rare gloves can have something like 16% attack speed (or 12% crafted if it has open suffix, also the 400+ accuracy flat), 80 life, evasion/armour/energy shield, flat damage, 70 mana (if you are mom, which i play a lot), and about 90 resistances, whereas the 1 socket tombfist can have maybe 30 total resistances if you get a gg 10% all resistance roll on the jewel. Imo those 90% resistances can enable the build to go for dps way easier, easily compensating the 10% more of tombfist, if you used path of building and had an idea of the "cost" of resistances you would know. Therefore tombfist 1 socket is "meh" but easily overpowered by a cheap rare gloves, if you care about defenses, that is, but since most ppl are softcore scrubs that can't get pass lvl 85, i get they don't understand this. Now, tombfist 2 socket? hell yeah baby, up to 100 life, 100 mana, 10% more, 6% life, perma maim, 10% attack speed and other 6 affix slots from the abyss jewels. It's downright stupid, aka BIS. Buff life on the right side of the tree! Just a little! Pretty Please!

You start talking about things that are very relative to each builds ( the cost of elemental resistances, some builds are using very few uniques and easily cap their resistances for example, some others ... have it much harder ).
Some builds might have a harder time looking for damage and that 10% is really something significant in this case. Casters or RT builds don't care about accuracy either, etc ... I'm just saying that 10% more damage + a nice ( not top end necessarily ) jewel in a 1S tombist is already a pretty good item on its own, and for some builds is one of the few ways to boost the dps. So a 1s tombfist is very far from being a trash item. If you can afford the resistances somewhere else, that extra jewel can on its own give you a lot of dps too by the way. And since you seem to me mostly considering godlike level of gear here, then 2S tombfist is very very strong ( and freaking expensive if you have that good jewels ), but if you have very good gear overall, your resistances should be fine, and 1S tombifst would be still pretty good ( assuming you really need that 3L or you can't afford a 2S tombfist or you are SSF for example ). SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Sep 3, 2018, 11:49:55 PM
