Making currency without mapping?

I know that mapping is the easiest way to get currency but repetitive mindless farming bores me.
What are some other ways to get currency that are more engaged?
is uber lab farming worth it for example later in the league?
If I complete my atlas can I sustain t16+ only maps so the encounters are more engaging but more profitable?
if I buy shaper/ uber atziri fragments and farm the boss do i get decent currency returns?
So in general what are the most profitable engaging ways in POE to earn currency?

Uber Lab is always worth farming.

You can sustain T16s with proper map investment. Chisel, alch, reroll for pack size, vaal, fragments, sextant.

Farming end game bosses is almost never profitable. You have to be really lucky with drops. You can make money if you can carry the Uber trio achievement, but I doubt a whole lot of people are still buying that.
That was really helpful, now I know what to do to farm currency more efficiently in the next league.
Thanks!
The most efficient way of making more currency is the trade system. Buy low, sell high. You can make a fortune idling in your hideout basically.

the most boring thing to do in this game is that.

Just dont play if you dont like this type of game "kills and loot".

and even if you do that flipping currency thing for a while I doubt you get really satisfied like ones that built their own economy through playing the game...

uber lab is definitely very very good currency maker, even if you don't get lucky with an enchant. if you do get lucky, boom you're set for the league.

the earlier you get to do uber lab the better it is for you, clearly. those quality gems sell like hot-cakes. less so in this league because temple gives you all kinds of quality gems, so gems as a whole this league are neigh useless, but ya its always viable option.

fragments are cheap too. you can typically buy an uber key for 4-5c and each FULL uber run is typically 15-20c worth.

the only issue i have with farming uber lab is it usually directly avoids every and all league mechanic that is in play. AKA you can't get incursions, abyss cracks etc in uber lab.
I ain't saying currency flipping is fun (although I did enjoy it for a while during Abyss league), it's simply the most efficient time spent <> money made tactic. I am playing SSF right now, so come at me bro. :-P

Definitely. I've found two Exalts this league. Both in uber lab. Just now I found one, although I sadly ripped soon after to a stupid mistake on traps.
Spoiler

With some luck you can make a ton of currency in there, both from random finds, treasure troves/etc, and enchants. It gets pretty damn boring after a while though. My head was spinning when I did it too much one day.
