Why are exalted orbs so cheap right now?
" baed on nothing? A shareholder in the company turns out to be running rmt websites for years, known to chris and the team, and he has continued to run these rmt websites while helping ggg shut down other peoples rmt websites, effectively helping him monopolise poe rmt profits... ya based on nothing, ok mate. Maybe you just havent been keeping up on affairs. In the words of chris himself "it doesnt look good". " https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1234566 come on m8, dont be silly. " obviously not since your rather misjudged replies to me have come about from me commenting on just how ridiculously dedicated one has to be to actually craft worth while endgame gear. " I have followed closely the whole drama with the shareholder owning RTM websites and it's all a bunch of speculation and Reddit hype. I am sound person and judge things with a cool head because I am well past my youth. First off if you have ANY ANY clue about shareholders and how owning stock in a company works you wold know that 7.5 % give you NO power what so ever in what gets implemented in the game. You simply get dividends. The guy is simply an investor and what else he does is irrelevant. However the mentioned websites do not sell any POE items and he does not have any involvement in them (they were sold) since the start of the year. Chris used that guys knowledge to hinder and stop RTM websites and that is just good thinking that a lot of companies use. Like many companies hire hackers to check their systems for flaws and improve security. There is 0 shred of evidence that any shareholder of GGG is involved in anything related to RTM websites selling POE items so there is 0 conflict of interest. Please feel free to prove me wrong with hard evidence and NOT Reddit links. I reaffirm that you statements are based ON NOTHING proven. Sorry you have no proof what so ever. it was simply another spastic Reddit witch hunt made up of people that have no clue how investing in shares works and what shares % give you actual power. I find it rather sad that you make such a big case about how wrong this is YET you buy supporter packs effectively GIVING money to this shareholder. Hypocrisy at it's finest. If you had a real problem and actually believed foul play you would not buy any packs am I not correct? Your link with your few characters means nothing in the context I mentioned. I can dress up all my level 90+ characters, level a few ones in 3 days and slap all my gear and you could see no difference. the thing is I play simply different and like to strip all mine and sort my gear in my stash in categories rather than builds. Read the questions again: the point I'm making is that you stopped enjoying POE. For one reason or another matters very little. The ones you mentioned are not relevant valid ones that's all. My honest opinion to end this is that you are simply bored. Go outside and have a breath of fresh air. "Never argue with an idiot. They will take you down to their level and beat you trough experience."

" I didnt make a big case of it, I made a small offhand comment. You are now making a big deal of those comments. " no youre not. " theyre extremely valid reasons. I completely disagree with your assessment of what happened regarding those rmt websites. The shadiness of it has nothing to do with what control he did or didnt have from being a shareholder, and is in no way washed away by him having recently sold those websites or them no longer selling poe items. They DID sell poe items, he DID own them, and this is a guy not unknown to GGG, this is a guy working with them on rmt issues who is an investor in their company. They didnt hire him to help them, when you hire someone you pay them a wage, he bought shares from ggg, thats a very different thing to being an employee who does a job. Police are hired to crack down on ppl who sell drugs, if the police you use to investigate drug crime are themselves selling drugs while cracking down on other people selling drugs then thats not a good thing because they have the inside knowledge of the business. Drugs are still being sold and the ppl who are supposed to be combating it are the ones doing it, theyre just shutting down their competition while remaining untouchable. That is a far more appropriate analogy. Theres no evidence? Chris himself concedes those websites were owned by this guy and that they sold poe items. "I'm pretty sure he doesn't own those sites any more, either. His name is still on the domain registration but he says he sold them earlier this year." pretty sure he doesnt own them, his names still on the domain registration but were pretty sure he sold them earlier this year, pretty sure. So ya, no evidence he owned them or they sold poe items, even though theres a clear admission of both by chris and his names on the domain registration. But were "pretty sure" he sold them says chris based on 'he said he sold them', and this is of course extremely solid factual stuff... whatever brother, keep on keeping on m8. " A small offhand comment is a plain lie. Looking at your first post the RTM stuff was the core of your complaint that linked the whole context togedher. Not an off hand comment, not mentioning it passingly just the actual issue you have. Now suddenly you are making excuses. Lame but whatever. To be able to discuss this better I need to ask you: do you have any clue about owning shares in a company? Do you know how it works, what your rights and the amount of implication certain percentages of shares give you? Please look this up before you reply. Also common sense (i feel i kinda need to mention this to you sadly): don't use Reddit use a proper source. On the RTM website issues First of all: an investor is not obligated to disclose any of his other business when he buys shares. Second of all: 7.5% gives 0 decision power in terms of what goes in game making him absolutely powerless to gain any advantage in his RTM business. this alone makes it completely irrelevant even IF he would be the owner of those websites selling POE items TODAY. Absolutely irrelevant. Third of all: Looking at the time line of events with a cool head and not a pitchfork. It's pretty obvious if you look at the whole matter that the guy bought shares while owning the websites, discussed things with Chris, gave him support and advice in stopping numerous other RTM websites while also removing all POE item trades from his and eventually removing himself from the equation of those websites completely by selling them. most likely a gesture of respect and safeguarding his investment with GGG. The fact that he has his name on those domains clearly got out and started a shit show on Reddit but seeing how Chris replied and said his part not really making a fuss of giving a fuck if the mob believes him or not. In the end it's not your god dam business what a private entrepreneurs does with his money and time. In any case the second point holds most value in all this and anyone having a remote clue about investing and owning shares will know that. The only ones complaining are clueless people who have no clue. "Never argue with an idiot. They will take you down to their level and beat you trough experience."

" I dont rly care that much to discuss this with you at all tbh, Ive humoured your responses so far but the reality is that your take is based on as much if not more presumption than mine, with a complete lack of actual hard provable facts, of which you have accused me. " its not pretty obvious, thats you giving them the benefits of the doubts, where I am not giving them the benefits of the doubts. Simple as that. you seen the comment from neon about not using xyz, that he would rather just search the database for the items? Offhand smart comment, nothing wrong with it. Remember that rmt wand? A physical crit wand crafted by an rmt site that was used as a mirror service for real money through this site. That wand that was in the database, in a particular persons account, openly being advertised on an rmt site plain as day and being mirrored by people for real money. This carry on just carrying on... trust when it comes to ggg and these rmt sites has been tested over the years, many times. No, I do not give them the benefit of the doubt, honestly Ive never given them the benefit of the doubt, Ive never had reason to. I remain sceptical, and have become increasingly so over the years as such things have gone on. You do trust them, fine, good for you. Thats all there is to it, you hold no more truth or proof than myself, no more sense or reason. Im done, hf mate. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" To be fair, if I were to post a few links to some certain websites it will get my account suspended or at least, you would see it removed by support in those brackets. Anyway I know I'm a few days late responding to this comment but it has to do with a recent Reddit thread where the guy was observing a known bot forum. Turns out a lot of people made threads in quick succession about being banned and it's not terribly hard to put two and two together. It's amazing how much of an impact that can have, and just having news spread about that impact and the market does a whole 180. |
