" Hilarious in all games Ive played the hardcore (or equivalent) players always take every opportunity to try and turn people to their game style. Nothing against it, just find it amusing. |

" Makes sense, I want people to play PoE not out of some altruistic mind set of spreading enjoyment over the globe... but because the more people who play it, the more people will get hooked, buy more stuff, keep GGG afloat and prosper, so I can reap the sweet sweet PoE nectar for myself. More people play in my league, the more trade/team opportunities I have. PS. and I'm a Kantian! ------------------------ As for the chat thing, moderators are coming from what I know. However, you get that many people interacting together with 0 chance of any serious repercussions, and you will have less than ideal behavior from a certain % of that group. One thing I have noticed as I get older is that people seem to be trying more and more to make the most absurd name they can. Now, I know it's a video game, so a certain amount of seriousness is thrown out the window from the start, but some of these names are just getting out of hand. I don't want to have to trade with someone named HorseF*cker, it just distracts me from the game... like mental rape, just forces itself into my head (to far?). Don't like that one bit. Do you ever wonder why EVERY online game EVER has a disclaimer saying gameplay experience may change online? (or something like that)
It's because you can never completely control the language in online games, it is just impossible. This is a mature game, even language aside. If you feel your child should not be exposed to this, don't let them play it. As for everyone else that is complaining about the immature language, /ignore. Just /ignore, is that so hard? Now I am in no way encouraging people to actually go off on immature chat rants, but is this seriously something to blame on the developers of this game? How in the world can you honestly blame this on the developers. This is the internet, people swear, you have to deal with it. |

" Noone forces you to read the chat. Besides, you can just ignore people who spew such language. |

It does bring up the whole point that most everybody over the age of 16 will hide the global chat because it's full of little kids acting like they're on 4chan...
But there does seem to be a blind eye to it even though it's a beta. Also is the same reason I never want to party with anybody in the game though.. |

I was thinking about this just a couple days ago and what I would do as a dev to send a first message to a player with abusive behavior.
What if when anyone puts another player on ignore, a tell or message saying "1 player has placed you on ignore status." but every time the player (account not character) gets more the tally climbs. "23 players have placed you on ignore status." Being able to "ignore" a players account might be help full with this too. Devs could use the the number as a gage of how the player might be affecting the community too. What do you all think about it? |
