The Twilight Strand - A Comprehensive New Player Guide

thanks a lot mate
Basic explanations for Flashback are up.
Have another bump.

And may I suggest to add PoB-Code for the guided builds?

POB codes should already be present in each guide. Which is missing one?
Nice guide. I skimmed some parts of it and found some things that could be improved:

Passive tree:
"
Each "wheel" or "cluster" on the tree contains at least one Notable Passive.

While this is mostly true, there are a few exceptions, particularly in the class start areas. I would probably change "each" to "most".

Currencies:
At a glance I find it somewhat strange that alteration is listed as very common but whetstones and scraps as common. I think alts are rarer as drops, although you get quite a few of them from vendoring items so I guess the relative rarities depend on your playstyle.

"
Orb of Alchemy: Adds 3-6 random Affixes to the item

While technically correct, three affixes can only happen on jewels so I'd change this to say 4-6 and mention the exception of jewels which only get 3-4 (thanks to 4 being the maximum).

Pick a league:
"
The next Challenge League is expected in early to mid September,

You should update this with the delve release date, and probably remove the recommendation to play incursion.

UI:
"
The more Energy Shield you have, the wider this light blue section will be.

Add "compared to your life". Later on the defenses page has this.

"
debuffs (negative effects) are shown with a red one

Aren't debuffs also shown on a separate row these days?

"
"Advanced Mod Descriptions": allows you to see the Affixes (and roll ranges) on items by holding alt while mousing over them. Enable this.

TBH I wouldn't recommend this to a new player. It adds so much information to the item tooltips that they become cluttered up and potentially confusing. I keep it disabled most of the time because I find that comparing items with equipped ones is difficult with all the extra information visible.

Flasks:
"
Path of Exile solves these problems by not having potions at all. Instead, it has Flasks, which are effectively limited-use potions that can carry modifiers like other items.

You forgot to mention perhaps the most important feature separating flasks from potions: they recharge. It's explained in the section below but I think it's worth mentioning in the introduction.

Also another problem with potions is that they fill up inventory space. Some games (Diablo II in particular) has a separate storage for potions, but sometimes you'd want to carry more than fit in that space.

Act 1 FAQ part 1:
"
Where's the Tidal Island?

You should maybe mention that it's always next to the waypoint at the end of the area.

"
Zones that have a Waypoint will show a light blue dot that is small if you have not yet found their Waypoint, or larger if you have found it.

It would also be useful to mention the waypoint icon in the area tooltip, since the dot can be hard or impossible to see if you're in that area currently.

Defenses:
The energy shield build section leaves out some of the base benefits and drawbacks of energy shield. It's easier to get large amounts of energy shield than life - based on my own experience I'd give a factor of 1.5-2 in favour of energy shield. Energy shield recharges very quickly and with some skill it's possible to get enough of a respite during a boss fight to refill it. As a downside there are no flasks for it so that's one less option in a panic situation.

Act 1 FAQ part 2:
"
Is there any reason not to level a gem?

You might want to briefly mention trigger gems here even if the details of their mechanics are left for later.

I'll stop here for now since I have to go do other things.

Raider:

If you want to explore this build's stats, links, and Passive Tree interactively, head over to the Links page and download Path of Building. Then, in Path of Building, select Import/Export Build -> Import from Pastebin, and enter this link: $POB LINK

Thanks for the feedback, folks.

My old computer failed suddenly, so it may take some time to remake the guided builds (and as a result I can't do a POB link for the Raider without some effort). But I am still here and updating, just only so many things I can do at once.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but in your section about softcore and hardcore leagues, you mention that someone loses xp when they die, i think you may want to specify that people start losing experience once they beat the boss in act 5, 5%, then 10% in act 10.
err all I see is welcome to twilight and recent updates. Where is main body/
@MichaelBay, the experience penalty is mentioned once it's present, after the end of Act 5.

@Scabchewer, there should be a menu at the top of your screen that opens the page list.
