scammers deserve punishment.
" They all fall into the category of "I WILL do A if you do B" where the person has no intention of doing A but benefits from someone doing B. As soon as someone tells you to do something first, you know you're opening yourself for a scam. Just don't. |

I'm more interested in something being done to limit chat spammers than trade scammers. Come on GGG, add a Beginner chat channel and restrict accounts to chatting in that channel until they have at least one Level 20 character on their account.
Anyone can join the channel and discuss stuff/help out beginner players, but spammers are less likely to interfere with long-term players in the other channels. Then again, beginner players would be inundated with ALL the spam in one place. If you're stupid enough to fall for the scam then you deserve it, survival of the fittest in action.
Currently being stalked around these forums by some clowns who caught feelings over being called out at being grossly inept at their job.

" So you're trying to tell me that, the reason for the majority of "scams" is the desire to have more "challenges", which the player himself is unable to achieve alone, so he buys them? I do not feel sorry for people like that. |

I feel sorry for them... but I'd feel sorry for them even if they weren't scammed. Having to pay someone to play the game for you is just pitiful.

I've never been scammed in PoE. I really don't think it is possible to scam.
IF you use the trade window, you have two chances to make sure the item you are buying is the correct one: You both have to accept the trade AND mouse over the item. If you fail to do that, you weren't scammed. Anything else remotely "scammy" will be more to do with your lack of game knowledge. For example, buying a corrupted version of an item not realizing that you can't easily manipulate or change it. That isn't a scam. If you are trying to cross league trade or something, that is entirely on you. I've been playing this game since closed beta and I have yet to hear of some one getting truly scammed for something out of their control. Last edited by Alcsaar#1714 on Jun 6, 2018, 9:28:00 AM

Personally for me purchasing services or 'challenges completement' is somewhere between unethical and cheating. Thus if you got scammed via trade window - i feel sorry for you, but it is your own fault that you didn't checked items you are buying. And if you got scammed when tried to purchase challenges / services - i'm happy because you deserve this.
retired from forum because of censorship and discrimination

What they deserve is one thing. That is based on morals. What's possible to sanction without getting innocent people in the crossfire, is another thing. Then we have this thing called "rules" and "proof", which should decide what "rulebreakers" deserve.
We all know a lot of people have no moral compass when they hide behind a computer. "It's just a game" they say - the moment after they've sunk to the level of idiocy to earn some pixel-currency in said game. There is no in-game mechanic to trade for runs/carry. So you KNOW you may be fucked the moment you decide to let someone else play the game for you. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Jun 6, 2018, 10:33:31 AM

The one thing I find interesting in what happens when you see a story of someone basically stealing a PoorJoys and then just ignoring, where negative feedback in their rotation/runthrough threads are actually deleted so that the "scam" can continue - is how easy a system purported to prevent online bullying can be abused. Of course, we all knew it was inevitable, but when you see it in action it really makes one a sad panda.

" Not true. What You need to forget is gear dependant build for start. After that you learn to work with what you find not expecting to buy wht you want. Perspective change. Try it. Last edited by de99ial#0161 on Jun 6, 2018, 1:00:59 PM
