Because people get butthurt when they nerf the 3 outliers instead of buffing the 27 trashbags, It cheapens the experience somewhat but at least my usual mid-tier builds will perform a bit better.

Could rival it at most. People are still going to use barrage for single target so that didn't change.

You can use either though really but 100% sure kb is still better PS can be used now though if you wanted too so that's nice.

How is it better than barrage ? Only thing I can think of is if the projectile are thrown on the side and doesn't shotgun.

I don’t think it’s really fair to blame this one on Tencent. Since GGG claims non-interference is important to them, I doubt they’d let Tencent interfere before the deal is even done.

I see this as inevitable. GGG adds more and more skills every patch. The design space is getting pretty damn crowded. Recent skills have had more and more mechanics jammed into the base behavior. Recent supports have been more multipliers with a drawback. The skills that are good are the ones that mechanically have good coverage or good single target before any links are added and you just stack more multipliers on them for extra damage. They could try nerfing the shit out of things like sunder and KB, but that has negative effects on the league hype and it will push their design towards the mechanically simple skills which keeps the design space tight. It makes more sense from a business and a game design standpoint to bring the trend of “flavor supports built into the skill” to their skill redesigns because it builds hype and it gives them more room to work with in their skill designs by raising the number of mechanics that are acceptable to build in.

Barrage > Siphon
KB > Siphon
