Here are the gem details for the reworked Power Siphon!

Could really use a video of this in action.

Lmao wanders were basically ALREADY god tier and now they get this... GG, GGG...! I WONDER what build the Tencent executives play...

Thnx for nerfing MY buids btw.
So you nerf Elemental Hit by changing it's mechanics and yet super buff Power Siphon? Ok...……...On another note, the new Power Siphon looks great but does this mean we can finally get some high 3xx + physical damage wands now? Or perhaps a "revamp" and mechanic change of this Power Siphon to be able to use daggers?

Feels like GGG is teasing us at this point by dangling these posts; yet many of us are waiting for the nerf bomb to drop. It's coming...……...

Physical wands have been and will likely remain a big wealth sink for little gains over a crummy elemental wand or a piscal.

...guess I'll add Wanding back to the list. That just looks silly fun.

I almost want to complain about having to do 'homework' leading up to the new league, but given how the last few ones went in terms of shaking up the skill interest pool (not so much the meta, but just what skills looked INTERESTING to play with), I kind of think I'll just deal with the problem as-is.

Carry on, lads.

That's a lot of projectiles o_O

What exactly does "in front of you or to your sides" mean? Is it going to be some kind of a random spread pattern? Or should it maybe say "in front of you and to your sides"?

[Edit] Hmm, is there ever any scenario in which one would want to use Split Arrow when this skill exists? I'm the last person to whine about balance, but it seems that the new Power Siphon is numerically better in every single aspect aside from 1 more mana cost.

Maybe it's possible that it works like Strafe in D2? You just click the button and the skill automatically aims and targets random mobs up to the number of projectiles you have. If so it might be good single target, but average clear.

Ok this needs to stop. They buffed it massively, they also changed it so you will have to make a different build for it. With such change its obvious your dmg output will be lower with new EH, you dont have a build for it (yes ive seen your build). Make a new build, scale it accordingly to new rules and it will double you dps. They didnt nerf EH.
I like that it will finally be able to justify its mana cost and that it plays nicely with power charges. I don't like that Reddit is going to riot until it gets nerfed pre-release.

If you have to change mechanics and require addition char levels for stats to use jewel slots just to be on par with the outgoing, that's a nerf. Notice GGG never once said it was a buff.

Hey wait a sec!! I just realized something; with the new Power Siphon having so many projectiles how is that any different than the "reasoning" behind them nerfing Reach of the Council?? Officially wasn't the reason said to be because it gave 4 projectiles and high weapon damage allowing you to not have LMP/GMP be mandatory?

Yet unofficially it was damn well because guys were upset they couldn't sell their overpriced harbinger bows when Reach was a cheaper alternative despite less damage.

Hey GGG, will you be rebuffing Reach again or removing the damage penalty to LMP / GMP gems to fit into this "balance" ? No shade btw @ new Power Siphon (+1 to that great rework & buff) but legit asking though

I get the feeling youre responding to someone who cant think around corners.

I would bet every cent Ive not put into GGG that this reworked EH is crazy strong for its level and feels nothing like the existing EH.

Unlike what GGG did to Cold Snap which robs it of its identity and meaning, this is a logical evolution adding aoe and bonuses against enemies suffering from the skill's primary effect. Its basically old Ehit with a few conditional support gem style buffs built in. Clever.

Power siphon is operating exactly the same way. You have pcoc style functionality against tougher enemies, barrage, increased crit damage and strikes...

These updates actually remind me of Harbinger skills, and it was strongly hinted that Harbingers were our distant future selves with empowered versions of familiar skills.

Looks like GGG have figured out how to update old skills: make them require fewer supports to be effective by incorporating popular support functions but conditional tied to the skill. This is good for both earlier game where you have few support slots and later game where you want those slots full of bonus damage multipliers, not compulsory crap like splash.

In fact, Im willing to bet melee splash's days are numbered.

Charan, you might be on to something. IF GGG is going to start doing that then that needs to happen ASAP!! Between that possibility and shaped / elder gear mods that exist currently, it would be a massive party and celebration throughout the forums if it came to pass.

Of course you do realize there's always that 1% - 2% that GGG typically listens to, the ones screaming how the game is "too easy" and often beg for nerfs. Time will tell but I honestly hope your right.
