Flash back was ruined by beasting
I completely skipped the Bestiary league, because the pokemon mechanism didn't appeal to me at all. Now I really wanted to join Flashback - after 2 months of Standard - and so I tried going after these beasties, feeling like a moron catching butterflies with a net.
I really, really tried to find the fun in dropping a red beast's health to 10%, then throw a net at it, only to see it pop out and enrage again. Rinse and repeat. 5 nets, no catch. I cried, killed my hamster in the process, and now trying to have fun with Flashback applying the "ignore bestiary" solution. Last edited by bablo#6719 on May 7, 2018, 9:42:42 AM

" Rogue Exiles, Invasion Bosses and Beyond are also always "active". But guess what, I do with them what I do to most beasts: I kill them. And then they drop loot. And they give XP. Amazing, right? |

" Correction, they drop a lot of loot. Thanks for all the fish!

Some people like bestiary mechanics some people don't (like almost every other mechanic in this game).
Why not let people just vent. Sometimes creating a post like this helps them keep calm and keep grinding. It's therapeutic. On another note, the only thing that bothers me about the bestiary mechanic are the net tiers. There should be 2 at most 3 types of nets total not 10 tiers of nonsense. While leveling i have like 5 different types of nets in my inventory and if you aren't constantly switching between them chances are the one you want to use isn't selected. This results in throwing "blanks" where you thought you threw a net, but the one you have selected may have ran out. If they could make so nets default to the highest net tier (<thauma/necro) then it wouldn't be as annoying imo. |

beasts add more mayhem to already a packed event. more mayhem is always better in such events, because thats the point.
the fact that in ssf you dont get necro nets for a while, makes it for a great decision to kill/capture (which makes me like beastiary mechanic in the first place), at least in HC. in SC I guess you can just zerg for captures. |

If there's one thing the whining about Beasts proves, it's that there's not much difference between Diablo 3 players fishing for Greater Rifts full of easy mobs like zombies, and a lot of PoE players.
We get it. You want to play "Path of One-Shotting Offscreen White Mobs". Tough. There are going to be some mobs in game which are dangerous. Can't handle it? Go play something easier. |

Now that the issue is decided and beasting wont be making it to core, I find that I might give it a try for shits and giggles.

"poe players ARE d3 players at this point. that time when poe wanted to kill the players actively is long gone, just like release d3 inferno is long gone. d3 just had a lot bigger playerbase so they caved in very fast to demands whereas poe took some years to get to the wide audience. |

Let's all take a moment to imagine just how bad of a player someone would have to be to struggle with a red beast.
These are more than likely the same type of people who just kamikaze themselves (instead of actually figuring out how to improve) at Kitava, Innocence, Piety2.0 etc. until they eventually make it past them. Now a good mechanic is most likely going to be thrown aside to appease people who are hot garbage. Currently being stalked around these forums by some clowns who caught feelings over being called out at being grossly inept at their job.
