Allow stack splitting when the trade window is open
jonathan gave an explanation in one of his interviews, don't remember exactly how it prevented attacks on the trade procedure but he mentioned similar attacks on other programs that were based on the fact that you could split currency after you initiated a trade.
they need a global lock state of stashes and inventory after trade begun at some point. and for some reason this worldwide lock needs to be established at the trade window opening. and lol at the guy here who stated that some character sync over 10 servers worldwide is trivial. apply at some game company, you're badly needed if you can prevent time/latency based attacks. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

sensible reason?
Alright, give me a moment... so IF I understand it correctly: GGG disables stack splitting during Player with Player trade/interaction, because they cannot program their own game so that the trade window whenever a stack get's changed it bugs out? DAMN YEAH! That's freaking good reason. L2P, but I don't have an idea... alright smarties. "GG" Playing for joy ♥

" No, you don't understand it correctly. The position GGG have taken is that they consider it risky to allow this because it could turn an otherwise simple mistake into a serious exploit. Not that they can't possibly get it right, but rather, it simplifies life by making it impossible to get it wrong. " O_o |

" o_O when I put 5c into trade and hit accept then there should be no way of adding more without a timed trade block/cancel/re-acceptation time, just as it is right now in game. All I get from it, they cannot program it. or are lazy to do it. I see no reason for any exploit here, or scamm or w/e the f***. It's primitive. simple as that. Playing for joy ♥

" Thanks for proving my point :D |

" Then that's on GGG for not being competent enough to prevent that. Like, jeeze, Ultima Online has allowed that sort of thing for over two decades, and they've prevented any exploits using it. My guides: Summon Homing Missile (SRS) | Act II starter RF | Budget Oro's Flicker Strike

" ^^ " damn it, you exposed my true intent again. Evidently you are right, that's probably the reason why my FL is full, dang it. Oh, I know, that's either full of my company of scammers or the fake accounts I have, surely. As I thought, you are pityfull, accusing others which you evidently do not know at all, with scamming and whatsnot. Tells alot about you. how pityfull you are well.. why do I wonder at all, your signature just tells it on it's own. worthless to react on your fail comments. " Nobody said there was a sensible reason. They said it was sensible to try to find out the reason first. It seems like you think you know everything already, and aren't really interested in a reasonable discussion. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" Oh, I am so sorry... " You're right, nobody said here A SENSIBLE REASON... My fault, SENSIBLE OBSERVATION. Changes NOTHING on the fact that the TRADING IS ABSURDLY LIMITED. And regarding your bs comentary about me not being interested in reasonable discusion, well.. if reasonable discussion in your point of view is BEING ACCUSED WITH SCAMMING, or Defending GGG's incompetent programing of their own product, you are right, since those are not a reasonable arguments worth a reasonable discusion. It's called BS. Playing for joy ♥ If interested, check out my Hideout(s): /view-thread/2226019 Last edited by Moribundus#6790 on Apr 21, 2018, 8:53:53 AM

The reason this is disabled is the following.
Either person should be allowed to cancel the trade at any time. This is a hard rule. Allowing stack splitting would break this rule. Here's an example of what can happen if this rule is broken. Say that I'm selling a chest. I have a full inventory. If I remove the chest and put it in the trade window then split a currency stack. There would no longer be room for the chest in my inventory. The other person would not be able to cancel the trade. I could then demand an extra 3 or 4 chaos for the item to allow the person to continue playing the game. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
