Allow stack splitting when the trade window is open
This is SO ABSURD to not be already for ages in game implemented that I have no other words for it.
Trading in PoE is already alot of crap and as if that alone would not be enough it's even more annoying with this "feature" being blocked. Could you GGG FINALY do it? Playing for joy ♥ If interested, check out my Hideout(s): /view-thread/2226019 Last bumped on Apr 22, 2018, 7:01:06 PM

So that you'd have an easier time trying to scam people, splitting the stack in the window before pressing accept?
You've been seen through buddy ;) |

" Could be. Could be, like me, that you forget to split the stack and have to restart the trade because you have more currency in a single pile than is needed. I'm sure if I played trade league outside the 10 day wiped events I might make that mistake less often, but it is a legitimate mistake I have made in the past. PS: me buying, as in split stack of currency, not selling. |

" i'm fairly certain that he meant split it in your inventory while the trade window is open. say you have a stack of 10c, but you managed to bargain for 9, now you need to split the stack. you need to cancel the trade (even if nothing is in the trade stack) split it and send the trade request again. |

+100
It happens too often to me, especialy when i trade to 2-3 people in a row. |

" ORLY? damn you got me! what a jerk. You, evidently, have no idea about the trading in PoE. Did you ever noticed that once you put something into the trade window, and one of the traders hits Accept, and you take out or add anything after that THE TRADE BLOCKS? dumbass. btw. scamm is just a stupidity of players in PoE. there is no scamm possible, aside that you do not pay attention to wtf you trade. And if GGG developers cannot PROGRAM a PRIMITIVE trade safety lock for stack splitting of currency which is the MAIN trade currency they should search a new job. Playing for joy ♥

Definitely +1 to this. I handle upwards of a few dozen trades a day, and an average of 1-2 times a day or so, I have someone who doesn't even realize you can't split a stack of orbs in your inventory while the trade window is open. This usually leads to a bit more confusion and wasted time... When we're ALREADY wasting so much time on such a dated trading system.
And no, this has nothing to do with scammers: DO remember that if someone changes their offer, it creates a multi-second cooldown before the other party is even ALLOWED to accept, making it rather clear that things were swapped. Another suggestion if they're going to implement this is to stop joining stacks together.
Example: If I have 2 people in my HO, one person whom I am selling an item for 5c, and another person whom I am buying an item for 8c, if I already have the 8c stack in my inventory and receive the 5c, I would like the 5c and 8c to remain separate unless there is no more room in the inventory, at which point the stacks are merged. Too often I have finished a trade and had to re-split the currency again. This is just an annoyance really, I understand stacks joining together was done out of convenience, but I find this extremely inconvenient. Otherwise, please offer an option in-game to allow a person to enable/disable currency stacks merging together when they're not maxed. |

It's pretty obvious that they disable it in trades for a reason. Otherwise why bother disabling it? So there must be a reason. OP obviously doesn't know the reason, so they are instead just running their mouth. Better to try to find out the reason first, if you're being sensible about it.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" Very sensible observation. The reason that GGG have stated is that it ensures that if the trade is cancelled, all the items return to the inventory in the same places and counts that they were before it began. I'm not going to say that sounds like a good reason, but it is at least the one they have mentioned in past interviews... |
