Microtransaction Suggestions

How about naming items? Especially (perhaps only?) items the player has altered/crafted themselves. The obvious issue is some players will name their items the filthiest thing possible, and other players won't want items that are already named.

Maybe give players the option to scratch out previous names on items. Or maybe once a player names an item, that name is tied to their account and the name reverts back to normal once it has traded hands.

There's still the issue of players making filthy names, then posting the pics of them in the trade forum though. So.....maybe it's just not feasible. It'd be cool though.

If you have names reportable, then the creators can deal with actually offensive names. Give them one chance to change the name. then just delete named items if they are objectionable twice.
I think I remember reading you guys might make it so that you can pay for a bigger stash. I think it's a good idea for this game and it would be nice if you could make your shared stash space so big that mules become obsolete. Perhaps make the shared stash tabbed (like the personal stash in TQ was). There could be different levels of pay options and the more you pay the more tabs you get. Obviously some people would circumvent having to pay by making mules, which is fine. But I hate having to log in and out of the game to switch things between characters, and once I get up to like 5 mules I forget who's carrying what.

i hope we have a decent amount of inventory / storage space without 'buying' space .

huge peev of mine : alot of f2p games have tiny backpacks , tiny or no bank , and alot of the time you cannot increase it without paying real money .

IF the game is confortably playable without buying 'space' then i have nothing against selling pack/bank space . but if the game is basically unplayable unless you buy 'extra' storage it wont last long on my pc , i will just go out and buy a whole new game instead .

What I always wondered is why game Devs don't offer character "voice" customization. What I mean by "voice" are sounds that can be heard while character is using skills. I find hearing same "voice" from characters of the same class totally anjoying even after few days of playing. The more I play, the more likely I'll just turn them off - not satisfying solution for 2010.

It's MUCH easier to do sounds than visuals. Resulting files are MUCH smaller so updating all clients on server maintenance would go fast. It could be done on individual skill, some skills and all skills level. It could be done on character or guild level. Guild members that have purchased individual sounds could chose ANY combination of default, individual and guild sounds!

It should be VERY expenssive if Devs, or some specialist, will do the job in full. It could be less expenssive if player provides sound samples. To avoid sample copyright issues, player would be required to sample it's own voice - sort of a voice monologue containing "screams" that will end as his character's "voice"! Different operations would be done to fit those "screams" to already existing sounds - RMS normalization, equalization, pitch-shifting, effects, etc.

Trust me, there are players rich enough to go for it - all Devs need to do is offer a quality-done service :o)

Addendum:

GGG could actualy make it even less complicated by offering unique sounds in cash shop by default. You know, put Flash player for previewing each sound, than allow selection of skill on which sound should be applied. Than bill the player. Once sound is purchased, it vanishes from cash shop. Sure, there could be cheaper, not-so-epic versions of the same sound, that would stay in shop permanently - or until X purchases of it. Or just for duration of certain event.

I think having alternate stock voice packages would be much easier and more doable than making custom voice packages for individual players.

Anything is better than not having sound customization at all.

The reason more complex options are mentioned is because I think there should be ones satisfying the needs - and budget - of rich players. I find most games totally lack services for such players. Sounds do not add real gameplay benefit, why limit earnings to few bucks per rich player? Based on real cash invested, it could look like this - from cheapest to most expenssive:

1. single Dev-made sound
2. that same sound but applied on guild level
3. package of Dev-made sounds
4. that same package but applied on guild level
5. single player-made sound
...
8. package of player-made sounds applied on guild level

Given that tensions between players / guilds are inevitable, we can push the whole deal even further:

9. single Dev-made sound temporaly applied on ENEMY
...
16. package of player-made sounds applied on ENEMY guild level, with no option for that guild to undo it expect by buying 4. or 8. (Who's the chicken now):o=

P.S. I'm not rich player but I know their ways of thinking very well. So don't start with "you want that implemented so you can humilliate other players".

That's like the companies who produce radar guns for the cops making radar detectors for civilians. Sounds like win-win for the company, hehe.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt they will allow players to spend money to hinder the gameplay experience of others. So buying a custom sound that would be applied to an enemy guild might not go over so well. Like buy a "Help, I'm a wuss!" sound that they make whenever they are hit.
Sounds to add to your player would be awesome. Like funny alternate hit sounds or annoying death sounds when you kill people. Also manly laughs that have a chance of playing every time you kill an enemy.

Of coarse these would be all lame if only you could hear them :P
