Packet loss at network layer
Having issues like many out there. Been having it since half way through the last season. It only happens in some zones. If I leave the zone and come back in, it goes away. If I stay in the zone, it slowly gets worse until it I have to force close the game. When checking network activity during these spikes, it shows no network activity from the game. I ran the WinMTR and it shows a packet loss on the network layer. What could be causing this. Is this an ISP issue, or a GGG server issue? Internet works great for everything else I do. 20-30ms lag in every game I play.

That's not packet loss at all. That is something known as ICMP packet de-priortization: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16203
What is more than likely happening is that you are getting intermittent true packet loss thanks to your wifi. Run the MTR while playing, for at least 300-500 seconds and try and capture your issue for us. Also, that 242 latency at your router sucks. That's basically a quarter second and in internet time, that's horrid. Try power cycling your router and modem. Turn them off an unplug them for at least a minute. hmmm, well, that's a worst and average was 4. Maybe there was a hiccup or something? I had power cycled it a couple of days before doing the test due to m internet upgrading from 60mbps to 100...I'll try running it in game today. Knowing my luck, I won't have the issue.

Had some severe lag on certain areas today not exactly the same as I couldn't leave and come back to have it gone. It eventually disappeared on its own. Only in certain areas and tping away removed the lag. Coming back brought it back...Spiked into the thousands and was basically unplayable...results on winmtr don't show much though...

Define sever lag.
You are still getting damn near 200ms spikes at the router, you say you have power cycled could you tell us if the connection is wired or wireless? If you are wireless try using a cable. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

It's wireless, but the 175ms lag spike at the router is very very few and far between. The average latency was 1, so I would have to have a bunch of 0 latencies just to make up for the one 175ms latency to keep the average at 1. I did power cycle the router.
The lag spikes were walk a little bit, character would freeze, my fps would continue to fluctuate while the latency would be stuck at 50. Then when I started moving again, my character would run all over the place and it would finally show like 1900ms ping. Then after my character was running around for a couple seconds, he would freeze again and my ping would be stuck at one constant number. Then when the character "unfroze" the latency graph at the top would finally show the spike and my character would run around again. During the smaller spikes when first entering the area, it would be like every second or two, just a small hiccup of maybe half a second. I stayed in the area for quite awhile during the test. As much as it was lagging in the game, the test isn't really showing any of that lag. I checked and the game is running on the washington dc server and that's what I was testing. A hard wire would be tough, I might be able to, but the router is on the other side of the room and I'm using a full tower desktop. If the latency between the router and my computer is the issue, why don't I see it in any of my other games (PUBG, League of Legends, Diablo 3, Day Z). I run 30-35ms all day on League, so if it's an issue between my pc and my router, why don't those other games lag? |

You know I have the same exact issue with an almost identical WinMTR made a thread here.
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2096951 it's 100% the exact same issue. It also started about midway through last league. What router do you have? I'm currently using Netgear R6300V2 from Charter. I've tried pretty much all I can the issue also persisted without the router. |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | 192.168.1.1 - 0 | 786 | 786 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | | No response from host - 100 | 157 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |dtr02klmzmi-tge-0-0-1-1.klmz.mi.charter.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 3 | 10 | 224 | 8 | | crr01aldlmi-bue-20.aldl.mi.charter.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 6 | 12 | 226 | 11 | | bbr01aldlmi-bue-1.aldl.mi.charter.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 10 | 16 | 211 | 12 | | bbr01chcgil-bue-805.chcg.il.charter.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 16 | 23 | 229 | 24 | | prr01chcgil-bue-2.chcg.il.charter.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 12 | 18 | 227 | 19 | |xe-010.bbr02.eq01.chi01.networklayer.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 14 | 18 | 212 | 17 | | ae6.cbs02.eq01.chi01.networklayer.com - 10 | 571 | 517 | 19 | 26 | 333 | 26 | | 6e.13.2da9.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 28 | 37 | 227 | 32 | | ba.12.2da9.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 28 | 34 | 227 | 33 | | ae30.bbr01.eq01.wdc02.networklayer.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 29 | 34 | 227 | 42 | | ae0.dar01.wdc01.networklayer.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 28 | 35 | 226 | 58 | | po1.fcr06b.wdc01.networklayer.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 27 | 34 | 228 | 32 | | 6f.28.559e.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 0 | 786 | 786 | 29 | 34 | 229 | 33 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider Last edited by Thorbals#7251 on Mar 4, 2018, 8:03:17 PM

I'm having the same exact issue since abyss league, I have to constantly zone in and out until I get good ping. You are not the only one.

They claim it's on our end. We claim that we don't lag in any other games. They claim it's gotta be lagging between our router and the POE server. I send the data and all I get is that my router latency is high. It had 1 high ping out of 1200. My average was 1ms. If it was my router I would lag in every game. To think I've spent $70 on this game
