Revamped Ascendancy Class Reveal: Inquisitor

It is still strictly better than Elementalist ? NO

Inquisitor is really good for solo play for DPS, true, but play HC and just grab one friend in party and others become stronger, stop thinking that we must always do more damage, the game offers enough tools to finish it (Shaper) without take the best ascendancy/skill. Diversity is key in RPG, fortunately, all the ascendancies do not have the same damage, speed and survivability.

I'm noticing something else. He's now immune to ele ailments on consecrated ground. Used to only be unaffected by them.

No, it was (and currently still is) 'Cannot be affected' which was just an awkward wording for Immune. I think they always meant the immunity and finally fixed the text.

So just 1 small buff: creates Consecrated Ground when hitting the bosses, not just when getting hit. And no nerfs at all. Guess there was nothing really wrong with this class?
Necro is a summoner/dark mage in theme, not a Gladiator, bone offering is too strong, many players play Necro for 75% block and 600 life per block, without other investissement, 2 point and you have max block and instant life its just the best node in the game... now you go at 50% with 300 life per block, its still strong for class supposed stay behind pet

For Inquisitor, immune is better
Immune = Cure ailment
Cannot be affected = cannot take further ailment but you still suffer from ailments applied before

When I first started playing poe if you wanted to go melee witch you could. now they are choking each class behind an ascendancy to give it "flavor." offering play was clunky, even with a cast when damage taken or cast while channel on the bone offering. They took a fun aspect of a class and gutted it for public opinion. that fine their game their choices, now the obvious path is that OP inquis. I think the numbers are 350% crit multi a 40% attack speed a 70% cas speed (plus gear), max crit, curse aura arctic armor, MoM, shield for shield charge or go hardcore with leap slam fortify since you more then meet the attack speed requirement on a "spell caster." I could even reduce my dps and drop a storm barrier on flame blast cause at this point it doesn't matter. Then I take 13% less 13% less and 30% less with 185% life and some half decent gear I should be able to tank some pretty silly things. yeah I'm not doing it on a necromancer, but really was the necro bone warrior that great? The Inquis has been this good for a while. My friend did the lameblast inquis a few leagues back, its nuts, you can try to say its a flavor thing, but balance doesn't come from flavor. I knew it was coming, because a bunch of whiners in the community kept on going (I know I cant name names but you know who you are). Now the Death knight archetype is going to be one hell of a mess. I'll still make it work, but its gonna be one of the last things I do.

Also for the build I am talking about you avoid the consecrated ground nodes completely.

You surely can choose whatever you like. Choices can differ based on the most irrelevant reasons. Many people never play Templar as for them, his model looks ugly; or many people like playing Shadow for his cool dance... However, that does not deny the fact that Inqui is so much better than Elementalist. Inqui has more than just better damage. He also has better speed, better utility and a defense system that will be more useful than that of the Ele. Even in HC, 1 single reflect mob will not kill you, and you can simply reroll reflect map.

The strength between "rivaled" classes might not be equal, but we got the right to ask for relative balance between them. Inqui or Pathfinder/Raider right now are just miles ahead of their competitors (Ele, Deadeye).
