Which is why I wish games would ditch the idea of having an economy and make loot account bound. Unless there are ways around that which I am not familiar with, it seems like it would help remedy many of these issues.
I tend not to fuck around in games when I am engaged and on edge to see what is next. Getting say, an amazingly lucky 6 link bow, and then spending 20+ chaos without being able to get a decent rare out of it? If that wouldn't push you to find an easier way to get more orbs or give up altogether then I am just never going to get a long with your gaming ethic.

I hate spamming the thread, but I feel like it does need to be said again.

GGG does not like multiboxing, but they do allow it.

I am not affiliated with GGG, and my words are conjecture on GGG's opinions, but the rule stands. You can multibox. For now.

I'm somewhat of the same mentality. I rarely if ever trade, but I love giving stuff away to my friends if I don't need it. Online economies outside of anything as regulated/beautiful as Eve Online's make me despair. I have enough trouble dealing with retail mentality let alone gamers pretending to be merchants. :(

So while I'm against account-binding of items and I do appreciate the dynamics of player-trading as a concept, I don't engage in it myself unless I'm incredibly desperate.

Usually I can just tap someone on my friends list if I need something, and even then I need to be pretty eager -- say, for a certain unique sword or something.

Would account-binding all items kill bots? Oh, almost certainly. But it'd be baby-and-bathwater, big time.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I'm a merchant, and used to be a part of a merchant guild in games. I even have my own little shop. Its not hard, you just have to have a set of rules to trade by and follow them strictly. Trading and merching in games are two separate things. But thats beside the point here. I'm gonna stop Derailing the conversation...or try to.

That would effectively remove the reason to even have loot. It would replace the community with an e-peen contest on either who was the luckiest, or had the most time. Not a bad idea, but just poorly planned out.

I don't see why it would remove the reason to have loot at all, but I do have a lot of spare time for gaming and don't care for trading whatsoever. :D

If nothing else, what about leagues and races- or specific ones that have this? Then I could care less what sort of shenanigans go on elsewhere.

If they made a race or league were trading is disabled(I thought solo leagues already did this), it still wouldnt solve the multibox/log problem that were discussing here. And I meant that it would either remove a reason for loot, or make it all about a e-peen contest. Not both.

It wouldn't completely solve the multi-logging problem, but it would help when you can't turn around and trade all of the currency gained. There still seems to be some tweaking needed or added hoops to jump through to address it fully.
I agree....we need to find a way to fix it, but I'm not sure how to do so, and neither is GGG. Otherwise they would have posted about it already and they would be well on their way to fixing it.

But removal of loot trade would just be a bad idea overall. Currency would be useless for the most part, and items you find would be trash and unnecessary unless they applied to your build or any alts. That would make loot nearly unnecessary, and would make random loot just plain stupid. Random loot is for trading, otherwise, play it like Legend of Zelda. Incremental upgrades on occasion, and a few side areas for special upgrades not normally in the game.
