Lets Talk about Detonate Dead First!
1. Spell Damage is Bad for DD
2. Elemental Damage is Good!
3. Fire Damage is Good!
4. Fire Penetration is Awesome!

Dmg Wise: Elemental Penetration >Fire/Elemental Damage

Detonate Dead has 2 Effects!
1. Corpse Explosion (Reflect Immune) 6% of Max Corpse Hp as Fire
2. Fire Explosion (wich is good in early game but not really nessesary in Late Game)

Why ? Corpse HP scales really high and Detonating a Single Unique Corpse can kill any other bosses)

So what is BIS for Detonate Dead to scale the dmg as high as possible?

Update 1:

Since i brought the Jewel Watchers Eye with Physical Damage taken as Elemental
I took the Aura Node to be able to use Purity of Elements

Because of the Changes i Switched to Blood Magic (because Mana Pool was too low to cast)

2k Armour
1,6k Evasion

6,4k Life
79 Unreserved

24% Chance to Block
11% Spellblock

With Flask and Bone Offering 75/75 Block
I went MOM with martyr of innocence for something fairly similiar.
Thats what a Friend is trying to do with Kaom's Heart but i need alot of Skill Gems

so i kicked Kaoms Heart Out sadly



but yeah the Innocence staff is pretty Solid especially with high block

I am not using Kaom's. I want to go for something along those lines. I don't want to go Kaom due to
a)new armors enabling 7 links
b)ability to exploit martyr as curse staff due to its build in skill.
L1CWDT+2xhigh level curse+curse on hit+firestorm.
Anything hit with FS and with Vengence gets cursed.



atm. Siting at 3000hp 1000mana on lvl 70 with arctic armor on with rubbish gear.

Throwing ~2000 fire 40% pen 23,5% crit base fireballs not counting any bonuses from aura or martyr. Every 0,37s.

Yeah you dont use Scorching Ray as main Dmg skill do you? Only to apply the Debuff?

I though about that too but applying the corpses against bosses feels bad for me with cwc else i needed to do something like

Scorching ray > CWC > Fire Pen > DD/VD > Desecrate > Conc Effect

but then you miss a ton of damage because the main Dmg Source for me right now is the corpse Explosion to be able to run Reflect Maps

(Base dmg lvl 1 is Fire Damage 10-14) with the Fire Penetration and Curses and Supports you can only do max 1000 fire damage with lvl 1 DD => you get max 250 dmg after resistances wich is close to noting


i also though about artic armour but ... no slots left xD


Scorching Ray+Storm Barrier+Fire Pen+Volatile dead+CWC+one more dmg gem. I think actualy about immolate because atm. crit ball wipes entire pack.

Spell totem+desecrate+totem elemental resistances. This granted slot for AA.

Staff Curse on hit+L1cdwt+firestorm+warlords mark+flamability/enfeeble. You don't need a 6L soo last slot can be used for something like enduring cry. If i had 6L i would propably put Vaal molten shell here. Free armor,curses and a lot of dps on anything fast hiting.

CDWT+Bone offering+immortal call+increased duration or golem of choice.

Last four slots Golem, mobility skill, clarity, a free slot.

Soo you have in total 2 or 3 free slots for stuff like vaal skills.

Block chance is 70% 40% with as high offering as L2 CDWT allows. Rumi give cap with something like 50% spell block. Later red dream jewel can be added.

Martyr, Raibowstride, Yoke of suffering. 2xcorals for hp. 7L chestpiece with Life and %ES regen. Abbys belt or abyss unique belt didn't had time to look at if there are some optimal prefix suffix that could use unique one.

Helmet and gloves with as much armor-es,life and mana i can get my hands on.

Just realized that i could also keep desecrate with increased duration in secondary slot. Enter boss room, precast corpses, swap weapons. Drop totem. Turn precast in to volleyballs. Agro boss. They should last long enough to give an alpha lead. If runing lower tier maps for some reason like very good mods or affecting elder/shaper presence it might be enough to splatter boss instantly.

why no one use Spell Cascade Support and the helm entchantment? for detonates?

Sure less damage but bigger aoe if you count all 3 + helm

you can play that on totems, you only need to cast one totem and then concentrade on Desecrate. no reflect problems...

cascade does not work on totems

Ended up reworking whole thing in to life build. Seem only way to reach spell block cap or close to it is to use new unique jewel.

Second issue is VD totem AI. It seem to not be working very well.
