Is blizzard (D3) copying Poe?

Because it sure seems like the two are getting similar with their recent overhauls.

How?

If I quote Jay Wilson from his latest post:
"
That goal and the system have been great successes, but the amount of customization we have available doesn’t mean anything if it’s not useful in combat situations. Combat depth is another one of our goals; Diablo III is designed to be a modern action game, built on the mantra of “easy to learn, difficult to master.” What that means for the player is picking a set of skills and abilities that work together, and then executing them in ways that lead to success: the wholesale slaughter of the demonic invasion. With that combat-depth goal in mind, we’ve been internally categorizing the skills since the inception of the system. Many of you could probably identify what these categories were if we asked, and some players have even mapped out what they are fairly accurately.

That's completely the contrary of what the hardcore mobs believe here, and that's how they flag D3 as a casual game.

I found the inclusion of these very interesting.

Blizzard stealing from POE? You're kidding me right?

For the love of all humanity please tell me your kidding.
Given the way D3 seems to come along Blizzard could literary put on a blindfold and steel just about anything from PoE and end up with a better game.

(On a side-note, what improvement of D3 do you think they'll announce first: the automatic and non-itemized gear progression or the platform change to Facebook?)
When i tear down other games, it inevitably builds PoE up, right? That's how it works right?
Console loot filter for POE2 Please!
Many people think D3 has taken a few inspirations from PoE, these people include reviewers and media people as well as developers. Anyone who doesn't realize this isn't really paying attention. But who cares if they did.

I believe they have, and I don't think it means anything bad. There is nothing new under the sun.

Don't ruin it. You don't get to see this kind of irony very often:)
PoE has a lot of good going for it. If you were getting all of the negative press that D3 and Blizzard have been getting lately wouldn't you start to rethink what you were doing? 10+ years of a cocky attitude towards your customers may eventually bite you in the butt.
