Elementalist or Necromancer ascension? Deffinetly Elementalist, even for summoners.
" Sorry then you are just wrong. As Archwizard said, each golem does not give you a buff each. You instead have exactly 1 buff that gives you 20% damage. More importantly the golem buff applies to YOU, not to your minions. You deal exactly ZERO damage, so you get exactly ZERO bonus damage from your 2-3 fire golems. (unless this changed, if someone can confirm that'd be great). Even if they give your minions 20%, your specters have lost 80% damage by not going necromancer. Your golems themselves do absolutely shit damage compared to Fire sentinels with the necromancer Soul Weaver passives. Its not even a comparison. They do WAY, WAY more damage. Don't believe me? Open up path of building, plug in your build and put in 2 6L setups, one for golems and one for specters. Now switch between necro and elementalist and see whats higher numbers. Numbers are never wrong. One more thing, have you played a golem build? i have played multiple. The golems are absolute MORONS without the primordial Might Jewel. Their AI is beyond stupid. They will barely attack the enemies next to you, forget about the reach specters have where I can off screen mobs. I have done multiple specter builds and multiple golem builds and I assure you, you are wrong. Necromancer outperforms Elementalist by A MILE for all summoner build except a dedicated golem build. ~Myth Last edited by Mythkiller#1811 on Oct 2, 2017, 12:48:28 PM

golem buffs do not stack. necro will ALWAYS out perform elementalist as far a a basic summoner goes. Golemancer is a completely different build. do yourself a favor, drop skele mages and only run zombies as meat shields and use your spectres as your damage. the clear speed and damage gets pretty stupid. my brother runs a pure spectre summoner every damn league, and frankly, i get sick of it because of all the damn effects going off

If golem buffs do not work on minions and do not stack, than you guys are right. I was under the impression that they did but I must be wrong.

They definitely don't do either. Minions are completely separate entities that don't use any of your stats/buffs that don't explicitly say they apply to minions.

I just assumed golems granted the buff as an aura. The same way dying breath and leer cast does.

" no sir. i believe if you read the actual golem gems, it states that it grants "you" stated buffs/benefits. like what was previously stated in this thread, minions are a completely separate entity and the only thing that benefits them are minion specific nodes, support gems, jewels, minion uniques, and auras that apply to "party". |
|
" Actually, "party" is incorrect. Minions are allies but they are not party members. Support a free Hong Kong.

" ya, mis-type. idk why i put party, i think i was thinking about the "party member" challenge bug at the start of the league. but, ya, i meant allies |
|
" This is why you don't assume things. The golem gems each mention granting "you" a bonus, but only in the top descriptive text and not in the actual technical part of the skill lower down. |
