On that point of yours yes, I agree, it has to be constructive criticism not just basic. Now only if GGG would listen to those that do so.I also agree on all your points you made and I think the way GGG did was a huge mistake, especially the ''double dip ultra nerf'' , it's as if they took a nerf bazooka and just shot in the direction of what required a nerf. That is how I imagine GGG nerfing, point in a direction with a huge bazooka, load it with a nerf , point in a direction, have one guy yelling ''CLEAR!'' , shoot, changes target then repeat process.
I love when people imply that GGG doesn't listen to or read feedback. Just because they don't implement your feedback/suggestion, that doesn't mean they didn't see it. It just means that they disagree with it. Which, shocking as it may be, is probably pretty likely, considering the hilarious suggestions that are made here all day.
So you are telling me that they agreed with the backlash for the week before launch charges nerf revert and they just did it out of the goodness of their heart?
Uhh... the charge changes, and then the reverting of those changes is a perfect example of something that PROVES my point, and counters your statement that they don't ever listen to feedback... But whatever, at this point apparently it doesn't even matter if arguments people make here make sense. Fuck, they don't even have to be coherent either in many cases.

The real problem is that the way they interpret feedback is the issue. For example, they saw "Nerf CI" and instead of bringing it in line with life, or bringing up life's power level (which wasn't even bad), and or nerfing Vaal Pact, they just simply deleted CI from ever actually being a real choice outside of Essence Drain builds (which are better off as LL Shavs build anyways).
This is a conclusion after a bit of testing the new update and the new challenge league.
A bit of testing? Thats a lot of testing! lol
For me the loot system and trade system are the worse. Harbinger get even worse with so much garbage around the player that even using a filter its difficult to see the ground.

Great thread, dude!
great thread? i agree. i read everything of what op wrote in his first post and there is some great feedback there. big credit for writing all that down. i hope it does not go unnoticed.
i am just wondering why you play the game if there is nothing you like? or did you use to enjoy it and are now fed up with everything?
regardless i think this is high quality feedback. maybe add what you also think is good? if there is something still?

If he kills the Guardians and Shaper while dead on the floor as his minions finish the job, then yes, this should straight up be addressed right away.
Also, saying that Guardians are too easy is pretty arrogant, just because you happen to have the best build for it doesn't make it suddenly a joke for the rest of us, I tried killing those t16 map bosses with my cookie cutter baron srser and I got totally dunked, no way they should make those harder, if I can't do it with a very solid build then that means the absolute majority(95%+) of players/builds can't do it.
again i agree 100% but i think op means that he/she is not to blame for using the tools available to him/her as a player.

Another interesting, and I'm sure unintended effect of the 3.0 changes deleting es from the game is the inflation of exalts. With es being no longer viable, exalts are useful for belts and jewelry only. No one is yolo slamming es chests, there is way to play an all rare crafted build, exalts aren't used. They are only useful for selling. As someone that crafted a huge amount in legacy, I can tell you that you need crafters to constantly remove large numbers of exalts for them to retain value. The economy gets really weird without that. They havent been 30c since like 2014. This league is what happens when there is no reason to craft, exalts become useless, and thus almost worthless. Es is where build diversity comes from, and without that there is no reason to craft.

Right, because you can't possibly craft items for "life". /s
Right now, EX has a way smaller value due to market perceiving it as "useless", and actually it's close to a REAL value where you can still use it to craft life, hybrid, ES items.
But due to the ratio of EX required to craft a goddamn "worthy" rare, not everyone likes to craft so early on in a league.
Drop rates might also be influencing it's value, as you know, those EX shards do keep amounting slowly, but steadily.
EX value might be a problem when you want to use them solely as trade currency, where if everyone has access to them, they simply need a lot more to make them "attractive".
Who knew that, go figure. /s
On a more serious note, it's a false problem, as the "crafters" just need to man up, and explore the other options.
It's highly discouraging to see people complaining about "crafting", when it's at least so accessible, even though they kept the RNG roulette. Heck, they even introduced a "lesser Eternal orb".
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...
Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...

Thats not true and you know it.
Most life builds are running unique chest with Kaoms and Belly being the most popular ones.
You simply cant craft chest pieces that could rival those two chest, so why even bother?
While this is true for LL as well, LL is just a small branch of ES based builds.
So ppl did have an incentive to craft ES chests while they have little incentive to craft life based chests.
In regards to Ex-shards effecting the market value:
I highly doubt that. I cleared easily 1.3k+ maps (did skip many bosses, so the number of killed bosses is lower) and while 3-4 ex dropped I couldnt complete a single ex from shards.
Now I know thats just my experience and by no means a representative sample size, but same is true for ppl on my friendlist.
Still not a good sample size, but the best data I could get.
The removal of ES did effect the game negatively.
It surely needed a nerf, but not a gutting.
I dont get why ppl are still defending this obvious overnerf and even go that extra mile and deny any negative effects this overnerf caused.

Neah, I have a very different point of view.
Belly and Kaom's being the most popular choices =|= being the most efficient ones, especially if you want to layer some other "defences" - yeah, I know that Armour and Evasion are @#&*, but using them actually felt better than just stacking HP, if we're not discussing VP and/or ES.
I manage to get 6.9K HP with a sole Coral ring, a Devoto, an Astramentis and a Death's Door, while wearing a 71 HP Astral Plate, a 62 HP Two Stone Ring, a 89 HP belt and a 86 HP pair of Spiked Gloves, and running a single 6% increased maximum life jewel. Just replacing those items for full HP variations, I would have to rely on a 9-10K HP buffer (or even more with BM), and a lot of situational "defensive" mechanics like flasks, Pantheon, Ascendancy, uniques and I wouldn't be immortal either.
A chest armour already can go to >160 HP. If it also gives a few resistances and a hefty amount of armour, it is a great choice versus Belly or Kaom's.
And everyone could still craft weapons, helmets, gloves, belts, rings, amulets, boots and jewels, HP armours aside.
In regard to EX shards, GGG might have also finely tuned EX drops, as from what my guildies/friends tell me, they dropped a lot more EX than most leagues before, not counting the shards. And dropping ~4 EX during the first month of the league for most of them was/is a breath of fresh air.
ES just needed a penalty for VP (so that picking VP would have halved your current ES, for example, so everyone knew that would have been the end goal to have up to 12 K ES with VP, if before they reached 25 K). CI should have kept either a sole 5-10% More ES node, or 2 x 10% + 1 x 15% increased ES nodes just like BM.
Next expansion, maybe GGG will address the sore spot that instant leech is and remove/rework VP...

Fair enough.
Everyone is entitled to his own opinion and I do respect that.
On the other hand the highlighted part of your statement explains perfectly why crafting chests for life builds isnt happening.
It doesnt matter if rare chest are more efficient or not, when the majority wants to buy Kaoms or Belly.
Demand and supply are always controlling the market.
If there is a demand, ppl will craft it to make currency.
If there is no or little demand, there is no point in crafting.

Well, you could always craft for yourself, and actually that should be a goal for everyone, to craft items as close to "mirror worthy" as they can.
In an ARPG, which is PvE centric, items hold great value, as they are part of the character development process. And when you're not going for the best options, and you settle for a lot less, that should draw a very powerful alarm signal at GGG.
And people already have more than sufficient options to "craft" (I meant to say "gamble"), on a lot of other items, beside armours.
I get your point that ES was gutted into oblivion, but the HP meta still doesn't have only uniques as BiS, so why isn't anyone crafting rares for the other options, should just show you that at least the "crafters" are amassing currency to craft those, but needing just a "few" thousands rolls until they hit the "spot" might be "boring" them already...
