movement speed really should just be capped.

This, absolutely. Better yet, just raise the base move speed for everyone, and eliminate all buffs from the tree and items except for flasks. Job done.

Stamina! add stamina - the faster you run the quicker your stamina goes off. Like with mana, the more intensive your spell casting is the quicker your mana is drained out.

The POE equivalent to stamina (in D2) is the quicksilver flask: short movement speedburst that has to 'recharge' after use. (light difference: recharging is based on monster kills)

BUT: same as stamina in D2, it is just boring in earlygame and you'll never ever notice its effect in lategame.

The only thing they fucked up about QotF is the new base evasion chest's have.

So it should top out at around 320% rather then 380%.

Assuming the old value's where their base-line allowed with this unique.

I guess while with 400 different enchants on a helmet, speedrun hack should exist. You need to spend a few days before you get the required enchant.
I don't think it would be a good idead to introduce caps on movement speed or anything else (even just for lab) since it limits diversity.

On the other hand, introducing things like traps that damage you based on your movement speed and layouts that make it harder to navigate while moving too fast would be much better solutions for balancing, but it's something that would take some resources to be implemented rather than a simple quick fix.

For example, there could be a trap that would almost one shot you if you randomly run over it with a lot of move speed. Then if someone prefered to limit his movement speed to be safe or just go max speed but be super careful, it would be his choice.

Same applies to other things that triviallize the experience, like having regen and phys% mitigation vs no-regen and high hp pool. Of course some things will always be better than others for some specific content but I think lab traps need more diversity in general

you ever tried playing with one of those speed runners as a "slow" build? its about as fun as watching someone else watch paint dry.
No, because speed runners don't use slow builds, otherwise they would not be speed runners at all.

Playing slow builds is fine, hating high movement speed is not and just led to universally hated changes like the fewer mob density we have now in maps. Speedrunning is also done in isolated parties (either solo or with other players that can keep up) so there is no reason to look at lab runs and think this affects you.

I find it a little sad that you think only speed runners move fast. its .. weirdly out of touch with reality.

anything that will hurt a fast moving player will hurt a normal player even more.

Also I am not sure why we are limiting this discussion to just lab farming. people use high ms build in more places than just the lab you know . and it is just as large a problem there as it is here.

like it or not there is an issue. we get too much exp too fast and we get too much stuff too fast. it is clearly a problem since ggg keeps on trying stuff to slow us down.

the shit mod density in maps is a direct result of the clear speed meta. people wana get all pissy about it fine . but dont act like the change came from no where . it came about because people were clearing those nice open maps in 30 seconds and leveling to 100 in a week.

blame those over performing mother fuckers for your suffering. because it pretty much is their fault.

and ggg is probably going to continue to make shit feel worse for the rest of us until they drop the damn bush beating and go for the actual kill.

we move to fast and our reach is too fast . and sure that is fun in the short term but , well.. look where it got us . look where the fuck it got us.

LOL crying about an item that literally has zero affect on you.

It's almost like people create interesting builds with the tools/items in game!
